Unlike most other countries, there is only one operator allowed to organize tournaments in the Netherlands. There are still some very interesting events for poker players with the top three best poker events in the Netherlands being today’s topic.

Holland Casino Poker Series

The Holland Casino Poker Series is organized annually by Holland Casino, the country’s state-owned casino operator, offering 14 venues across the Netherlands. CasinoScout.nl explains that between four and ten poker tournaments are organized during the annual poker series.

The buy-in of the Main Event varies per location but is typically set between €500 and €1200. Locations where the poker series is held include the Holland Casino venues in Amsterdam, Breda, Valkenburg, Venlo, and Utrecht.

World Poker Tour

The internationally reputed World Poker Tour (WPT) is organized in the Netherlands where it returns every year. The Main Event has three starting days, but the WPT Prime series consists of ten different tournaments.

The WPT Prime takes place every year in March. This year, Holland Casino Amsterdam Center hosted the international poker tournament from the 24th of March to the 1st of April 2023. Philip Hollederer from Germany was the winner of the Main Event this year, taking home €161,552 ($170,000).

Master Classics of Poker

According to CasinoScout.nl, Master Classics of Poker (MCOP) is the largest poker event in the Netherlands. The MCOP is organized once a year in the Holland Casino brand in Amsterdam’s city center. The event is not only popular in the Netherlands but attracts players from around the world.

This tournament series is organized every year in November. The MCOP Main Event buy-in has a buy-in of €3,000 (roughly $3,160). During the Master Classics of Poker, between five and 10 tournaments are typically organized.
