The Hendon Mob Championship Heads to Johannesburg for the THMC SA Millions
After three successful years in Cape Town, The Hendon Mob Championship opens a new chapter with ShuffleUp Poker in Johannesburg hosting the R1.5 Million Guaranteed THMC SA Millions.
The Hendon Mob Championship (THMC) is staying in South Africa. After three hugely successful years in Cape Town, THMC is delighted to announce the THMC SA Millions, a new chapter for the championship taking place at Montecasino Johannesburg from October 28 to November 3, 2026.
The move to Johannesburg brings a new city, a new venue and a new partnership with ShuffleUp Poker, while continuing the THMC’s commitment to one of the world’s most passionate and welcoming poker communities.
The THMC SA Millions will serve as the opening event of the Montecasino SA Poker Open, kicking off a huge festival of poker action at one of South Africa’s premier entertainment destinations.
The THMC SA Millions will feature a R9,000 buy-in, five starting flights and a R1,500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
A New Chapter After Three Years in Cape Town
The arrival of the SA Millions follows an exceptional three-year run for the THMC Cape Town Million, which grew steadily from its inaugural event. The event attracted 210 entries in 2023, 299 entries in 2024, and 354 entries in 2025. Cape Town quickly became a flagship destination for the THMC and an event that meant much more than just numbers.
The Cape Town Million became a gathering point for THMC Champions from across the world. Over the three years, players developed a genuine affection for the city’s poker scene and, perhaps more importantly, for the South African poker community that welcomed them.
That connection made it easy to continue THMC’s South African adventure. The event’s year-on-year growth and the affection it generated among The Hendon Mob team and THMC players are a testament to what was built together in Cape Town. Now, the THMC is ready to take that legacy into a new city.
Introducing the South African Millions
The inaugural THMC SA Millions features a R1,500,000 guarantee and a R9,000 buy-in.
Players will have five opportunities to enter the event, with starting flights running from October 28 through November 1 before the tournament reaches Day 2 on November 2 and concludes on November 3.
The three-day tournament will feature 30-minute levels on Days 1A–1C, while Days 1D and 1E will feature 15-minute levels. Once the field reaches Day 2, levels will increase to 40 minutes for the remainder of the tournament.
With a 30,000 starting stack, five starting flights and a mixture of level lengths across the opening days, the SA Millions is designed to give players plenty of flexibility while building towards a final two days of deep-stack tournament poker
THMC Champions Head to Johannesburg
The THMC’s popular Champions package promotion will continue as part of the South African Millions.
Every THMC Champion in 2026 wins a package to the THMC SA Millions, providing the same core package as previous years with one significant addition: €500 in travel credit towards Main Event travel.
That means THMC Champions from events around the world will once again have a reason to pack their bags for South Africa — this time with Johannesburg as their destination.
The SA Millions will also allow the THMC to introduce its championship to a new audience while continuing to bring together the players who have helped make the series what it is today.
