The Hendon Mob Championship Heads to North Africa for the Irish Open International Marrakech
A new country, a new region milestone and another chapter in the Irish Open partnership will make Marrakech a landmark THMC stop.
The Hendon Mob Championship is heading somewhere it has never been before.
On November 10, The Hendon Mob Championship (THMC) will make its North African debut when it kicks off the Irish Open Marrakech festival at Casino de Marrakech in Morocco.
It marks another significant step in what has been a rapidly expanding THMC journey in 2026, with Marrakech becoming the 13th THMC event of the year and adding a brand-new country to the championship’s growing international footprint.
The β¬350 THMC will open the six-day Irish Open Marrakech festival on Tuesday, November 10, giving players the chance to become the first THMC champion crowned in North Africa. The one-day event kicks off the Irish Open schedule before a packed week of tournament poker takes over Casino de Marrakech.
Another Irish Open International Milestone
Marrakech also represents the second Irish Open International stop to feature THMC, following the championship’s debut at the Irish Open’s first international destination in Sydney last month.
That makes the Marrakech event another important marker for a partnership that has been part of the THMC story almost from the very beginning.
The Irish Open has consistently been one of the most important stops on the THMC calendar, and Marrakech continues that relationship as the championship follows the Irish Open onto another international stage.
The Sydney debut brought THMC to Australia for the first time. Now, just weeks later, the championship is heading to Africa for another first. It’s a fitting combination: a new destination for THMC, while continuing a partnership that has helped take The Hendon Mob Championship to an increasingly global audience.
Six Days of Irish Open Poker in Marrakech
The Irish Open Marrakech festival runs from November 10β15 at Casino de Marrakech, with 36 events scheduled across the six days and buy-ins ranging from β¬140 to β¬3,000.
The festival’s centrepiece is the β¬1,155 Irish Open Main Event, which comes with four starting flights beginning Wednesday, November 11. Players start with 50,000 chips, with the first three flights featuring 40-minute levels before a turbo Day 1D on Friday. The surviving field returns on Saturday for Day 2 before the tournament plays down to a winner on Sunday.
Alongside the Main Event, the schedule offers plenty of variety, including a β¬2,200 High Roller, β¬3,000 Super High Roller, Ladies Championship, Seniors Championship, PLO events, Mystery Bounty action, Classic Freezeouts and the two-day β¬550 Marrakech Cup.
The schedule also includes a β¬350 Africa’s Cup and, naturally, a Mini Irish Open.
A New Country for THMC
Marrakech adds Morocco to the THMC map and gives the championship its first event in North Africa.
That geographical expansion is becoming a defining feature of THMC’s 2026 season. From Australia to South Africa, Asia, North America, Europe and now Morocco, the championship continues to find new destinations while building on relationships.
The Marrakech event also falls during an especially busy period for THMC, arriving shortly after THMC Malta at the Malta Poker Festival, alongside the THMC South African Millions at Montecasino in Johannesburg, and ahead of the championship’s upcoming stops in Tallinn and London.
The Road Continues
The Hendon Mob Championship has spent 2026 pushing further around the poker world, and Irish Open Marrakech fits perfectly into that journey.
A first THMC in Morocco. A first THMC in North Africa. A second Irish Open International stop. And the 13th THMC event of an increasingly global 2026 season.
It all begins on November 10 at Casino de Marrakech.
The next THMC champion will make a little history in the process.
