Koen Roos Presented with The Hendon Mob Award

The Global Poker Index (GPI) and The Hendon Mob (THM) are pleased to announce Koen Roos of the Netherlands is the latest recipient of The Hendon Mob Award. Koen was presented with the award during Day 1C of The Hendon Mob Championship event at The Festival in Bratislava, hosted at Banco Casino Bratislava. 

Koen put a new meaning to Flaghunting in 2025, travelling across the world on a mission to claim the world record. Roos achieved the feat in just 11 months, capturing the Serbian flag on November 13th for his 50th flag of the year. 50 cashes in 50 countries across five different continents. Two better than the previous record holder, Canadian Dominic French, in 2024.

In total, Koen earned more than $111,000 across 52 results in 2025. Impressively, Roos made 38 final tables and won 10 events. He captured flags in Japan, Taiwan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Costa Rica, Netherlands, Scotland, Poland, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Monaco, Lithuania, Iceland, Czech Republic, Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Hungary, Slovakia, Portugal, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, Colombia, United States, Ecuador, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Morocco, Latvia, Norway, Georgia, Belgium, Finland, Bulgaria, France, Ireland, Malta, and Serbia.
