The 2025 Master Classics of Poker Hits Holland Casino this November

The schedule is out for the Netherlands’ premier poker tournament series, Master Classics of Poker, one of the longest-running festivals in Europe. The 2025 MCOP will return to Holland Casino in Amsterdam Centrum from November 14-22. The 33rd edition of the MCOP features buy-ins ranging from €330 up to €10,300, including the headlining €3,000 MCOP Main Event.

MCOP has also added two new High Roller events in the €10,300 No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha High Rollers. Players can also save the €300 entry fee by pre-registering for either event. The schedule has been juiced up to 22 events, which also includes a €1,650 Re-Entry event to kick things off, a €2,200 NLH and PLO Mystery Bounty, a €3,000 PLO, and a €1,100 PKO Bounty event.

History of the Master Classics of Poker

The MCOP first debuted in 1992 and has been played every year since. 2025 marks the 33rd time poker players from around the world have flocked to Amsterdam. The MCOP Main Event trophy has been labelled as one of the most sought-after, prestigious titles a player can win on the felt. Some big-name champions have captured the title, including Julien Sitbon (2022), Noah Boeken (2013), Ole Schemion (2012), Robert Mizrachi (2004), and original Hendon Mobster Ram Vaswani (1999).

€3,000 MCOP Main Event (Nov 18-22)

Last year’s MCOP Main Event drew 427 total entries, creating a prize pool worth €1,150,756. Finland’s Eero Abbey emerged victorious, taking home €203,800. There were three local hopefuls in the mix in the final five, with Derk Van Luijk busting fifth, Erik van den Berg out in third, and Jeroen Kalthof finishing runner-up for €135,675.

This year’s MCOP Main Event begins on Tuesday, November 18th, with the first of three Day 1 starting flights. Day 1A and 1B feature 60-minute levels while Day 1C has 30-minute levels. All flights begin with 40,000 in chips and boast unlimited re-entries. Day 2 is scheduled for the 20th with 75-minute levels followed by the final day of play on the 21st.

MCOP Side Events and Satellites

Alongside the Main Event, the 2025 Master Classics of Poker will feature a rich schedule of side events designed to suit a wide range of players. These include buy‑ins mostly in the €330‑€1,650 range for tournaments like turbo NLH, PLO, deep stacks, bounty and mystery bounty formats. There are also larger buy-in events, including two €10,300 High Rollers (NLH & PLO) for those seeking high stakes. In addition, numerous satellites (both online and live) give players affordable pathways into these side events and the Main Event itself.

The €1,650 Re-Entry event gets the festival underway this year once again after attracting 306 entries in 2024. The prize pool closed at €445,230 with Dutch player Wouter Beltz winning €91,361 and getting the home crowd on the board early.
