Nov. 25th – Dec. 1st: Crazy Poker and Party Action at PokerFest Bucharest (€300,000 GTD in the €550 Main Event)

Towards the end of each season, PokerFest Romania has been holding its flagship poker festival, the wealthiest of all the events of the year. And 2019 is no exception, as the largest Eastern-European tournament poker operator is currently preparing for a juicy one-week-long string of tournaments in the heart of the city of Bucharest starting November 25th.

The festival marks PokerFest’s 8th anniversary and will feature a dozen tournaments, satellites, endless cash games, a players’ party and, on top of it all, a juicy €300,000 Gtd €550 buy-in Main Event.

We heard you like big money, hard parties and easy fields, yo!

As it’s always been the case, for the guys at PokerFest the 300k prize-pool is just a number, if we look into the previous editions. This end-of-the-year event has always attracted much more than the advertised guarantee, with players from more than 30 countries joining this incredibly soft field. Trophies and heaps of money have landed all over the world from PokerFest and consolidated it as a firm staple in any serious European live tournament poker grinder’s agenda.

But there are a lot more reasons for joining this premium event, and most of them have nothing to do with the playing field. The players around the world have been upping their standards over time and PokerFest is the right operator in the right place to meet their most picky requirements.

Firstly, the staff’s hospitality and special care for the players from abroad is part of their brand, and their tournament logistics are world-class. There is a special department to deal with all the foreign guests’ demands, the staff is English speaking and uber-friendly and the game management works like clockwork. A mobile app refreshes each and every minute with updates from all the ongoing events and there hasn’t been any single recorded glitch or inconvenience in the flow of these festivals during the 8-year strong history of this operator. In fact, these are the very reasons for which great international poker operators like PokerStars, 888poker LIVE or Unibet Open have chosen to collaborate with PokerFest – and then came back for more.

Secondly, another strength of this event is about the location itself. The series will be set and done within the most central and comfy place of the Romanian capital city, the 5-stars Intercontinental Hotel, located right near the Old City Center.

… but ask yourself what Bucharest can do for you!

For those who haven’t travelled to Bucharest yet, here are a couple of key facts about this city:

Bucharest is the safest capital city of the European Union. Really. There is no place elsewhere to be able to safely have midnight strolls without worries, the place is free of hustlers or other unwanted company and the people on the streets are helpful, friendly and funny.

Now, a few words about the nightlife in Bucharest. Few know, but this city never sleeps. Right when other capitals call it a day and go to sleep, Bucharest is just preparing for the party. The Old Center is a rich and vibrant conglomerate of terraces, bars, clubs and restaurants which close at dawn and open the next minute. The prices are ridiculously low as compared with other European street markets and the Romanian buddies and girls are the nicest and readiest to party you’ve ever met.

All the points above advocating for this trip may seem a bit hyped but they really are not. PokerFest is one of a kind operator and Bucharest is a city where people always come back again. It’s just the first step that has to be made.

The festival will conclude on December 1st with the final table streamed live with hole cards revealed and commentary, from a state of the art poker table – the same you use to see at WSOP’s and EPT’s finals. The Main Event’s field will be lined with players from all over Europe, many Romanian pros and recreationals, a quite consistent Israeli lineup (more than 150 traditionally participating players) and even participants from other continents and countries, like China, Australia, the US and whatnot.
