THMC Heads South of the Hemisphere for the First Time; R10.5 Million GTD in Cape Town

For the first time since its inception, The Hendon Mob Championship (THMC) will have an event in the southern hemisphere. After a multi-year partnership covering event exposure, advertising and leaderboards, THM has joined up with SunBet Poker Tour by MJPT on a live event. SunBet Poker Tour Cape Town will run from 22nd November to 3rd December, with THMC Cape Town Million running from November 26th to 28th with an R8,000 buy in and R1,000,000 guaranteed

The event will be featured during the upcoming SunBet Poker Tour by MJPT Cape Town at the spectacular GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in Cape Town, South Africa. The festival kicks off on November 22nd and wraps up on December 3rd. 12 events fill the schedule headlined by a R4,000,000 guaranteed Main Event.

R1,000,000 Guaranteed THMC Cape Town Million

The first of three starting flights for THMC Cape Town Million is set for 5 PM local time on Sunday, November 26th. The event carries a buy-in of R8,000 with 30,000 chip starting stacks and 30-minute levels. Unlimited re-entry is permitted through the first nine levels on Day 1. Day 1B and Day 1C will play out on Monday, November 27th at 1 PM and 7 PM respectively.

The event will play down to a winner on Tuesday, November 28th where at least R1,000,000 will be divided among those fortunate enough to make the money.

SunBet Poker Tour R4,000,000 Guaranteed Main Event

The festival as a whole has R10.5 Million in guaranteed prize pools. Not even half of that comes from the Main Event and THMC Cape Town Million. That means there is a lot of extra money up for grabs throughout the remaining events. The festival kicks off with an R8,000 Welcome to Cape Town event that boasts a R500,000 guarantee. That is followed by another R1,000,000 guaranteed event in the R25,000 Mega Million.

Along with the Main Event, two of the major draws will be the High Roller and Super High Roller. The former boasts an R1.5 Million guarantee while the latter has R2 Million guaranteed. The rest of the schedule is filled with Bounty events, Little Slam, Supastak, South African Club Championship, and daily Hyper Turbos.

The highlight of the festival gets underway on Wednesday, November 29th with Day 1A of the Main Event. Entry is R15,000 with four starting flights. Players receive a starting stack worth 30,000 and blind levels are 40 minutes. Unlimited re-entry and late registration are available for 10 levels.
