The Biggest Chicago Event Ever to be Played
Franke and The Festival team are going all in on the Swedish-evolved poker variant Chicago, making it the opening event of The Festival in Bratislava 2025, with a multi-day, multi-flight event. The €125 Chicago European Championship event runs from 18th to 22nd November to kick off The Festival Series at Banco Casino. The aim is to host the largest Chicago event ever.
The Festival in Bratislava continues until the 24th of November with a jam-packed 51-event week-long poker adventure returning to the capital city of Slovakia.
Until now, Chicago has been a format rarely found at poker festivals around Europe, aside from Poker-SM Live events. There are only seven recorded ‘Chicago’ tournaments on The Hendon Mob database, with the largest event having 64 entries back in 2019 at Olympic Park Casino in Tallinn.
Chicago European Championship
The Chicago European Championship at The Festival in Bratislava features eight starting flights — more than the total number of recorded Chicago tournaments on THM. Day 1A begins on Tuesday, November 18, at 11 a.m. Another seven flights will follow, with the surviving players returning to play down to a winner on Saturday, November 22, at 11 a.m.
