Battle of Malta Spring Edition Returns in 2023

After a huge success in 2022, the Battle of Malta Spring Edition will return to Casino Malta in 2023. The Spring Edition is the first of two major Battle of Malta festivals to be hosted at Casino Malta this year. The second Battle of Malta Spring Edition runs from May 31st to June 6th. Tons of events are scheduled highlighted by a €500,000 guaranteed “Let The Battle Begin” Main Event.

”We are prepared for a huge turnout at the Spring Edition of the 2023 Battle of Malta with many local hotels sold out in the area,” said Casino Malta. “In addition to the €500,000 guaranteed Main Event, there will also be plenty of side events as well as round-the-clock cash games at Casino Malta.”

€500,000 Guaranteed Battle of Malta Main Event

The Battle of Malta Main Event has historically been one of Europe’s highest-attended mid-major poker events. The Main Event is a well-structured affair and boasts five opening flights from June 1-4. The first three flights have 40-minute blinds levels while the final two are turbo-charged affairs featuring faster 20-minute blind levels. The cost to enter is €600 and players start with 25,000 chips.

Players advancing from any of the opening flights will already be in the money before competing for three more days from June 4-6 until the newest Battle of Malta champion is crowned.

The Battle of Malta was first conceived in 2012 by PokerListings The inaugural BoM drew a total of 349 entries. Since then, it has grown each and every year. In October 2022, the latest BoM smashed attendance and prize pool records with a total of 4,657 entries and €2,258,645 in the pot.

Last year was the first playing of the BoM Spring Edition. Another smashing success as 2,592 entries were tallied. Italian Giuseppe Rosa took the top share of the €1,244,160 prize pool earning €200,340.

Battle of Malta Spring Edition Side Events

The festival provides opportunities for all players no matter the size of their bankroll. Buyins range from €70 all the way up to the €5,200 Super Mega Seige of Malta. One of two High Roller events on the schedule with a €1,100 “The Dark Knight by Domusbet” as the other. Other sponsor events include an Olybet Side Event, MAS Side Event, Goldbet Event, Italia Play Side Event, Sisal, and IPC Last Chance.
