€5M GTD Portomaso Grand Opening Kicks Off 2026 in a Big Way

The Portomaso Casino in St. Julian’s, Malta, is debuting a brand-new poker room in 2026 and has partnered with Impreium Events, Diamond Poker Series, Malta Poker Festival, Vamos Poker Tour, Full Tilt by Italia Play, Acesbook, and IPO to present the €5,000,000-guaranteed Portomaso Grand Opening.

The festival runs from January 16 to 26 and features the Million Mystery Bounty, MPF Special Edition, 10k Diamond PLO Championship, and the 5k Diamond Million, all boasting €1,000,000 guarantees. The schedule is packed with 34 events, including another million in side-event guarantees, satellites, bounties, turbos, more Omaha, and High Rollers.

Million Mystery Bounty €1,000,000 GTD

Imperium’s Million Mystery Bounty will get the festival underway with the first of seven Day 1 flights featuring a special price buy-in of €1,000. The event boasts a €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool and a top bounty of €100,000. Day 1A and Day 1B also feature a bonus prize of 25 tickets to Day 1A of the MPF Special Edition event.

Players get 60,000 chips and play 30-minute levels. Late registration is open for 12 levels. Qualifying players return for Day 2 on January 25th, with the winner to be crowned on the final day of the festival.

There is also a Special Day 1 for the Mystery Million Bounty on December 28th at the Imperium Room Milano starting at 14:30. The buy-in is €1150 with 60,000 chips and 40-minute levels.

Malta Poker Festival (MPF) Special Edition €1,000,000 GTD

Anyone familiar with poker in Europe is well versed in the Malta Poker Festival’s Spring and Autumn editions. The new poker room in Portomaso will bring a third MPF to the calendar, and it’s a big one. The €1,000,000 guaranteed MPF Special Edition event carries a buy-in of €2,200, but like the Million Mystery Bounty event, it also has a special-priced Day 1A.

Day 1A of the MPF Special Edition costs €2,000 to enter and begins on January 17th. Players are rewarded with a 200,000 chip starting stack and 40-minute levels. There is also a bonus prize of 30 tickets to the Mystery Million Bounty Day 1B. There are six Day 1 flights for the MPF Special Edition, with Day 2 on January 23rd and a live-streamed final TV table on January 24th.

Over €2,500,000 GTD Diamond Poker Series PLO Events

Fresh off a debut season in 2025, the Diamond Poker Series PLO Grand Slam saw record-breaking high stakes Omaha spread across Europe, including Albania, Tallinn, Malta, and Prague. The team will return to Portomaso and the new poker room with a handful of Pot Limit Omaha events and €2.7M in guarantees.

The first Diamond Poker Series event starts on January 19th. The 15k High Roller Progressive KO has a €300,000 guarantee, getting players warmed up for Day 1 of the 10k Diamond Championship, which takes the stage on January 20th. The first of two Diamond €1,000,000 guarantees. The 5k Diamond Million comes near the end of the festival, beginning with Day 1 on January 24th.
