Poker Beginners Guide: Opponent's Best Low Hand Test (1)

In this section your job is to identify your opponents best possible low hand.

Here your opponent has two unduplicated low cards on his board, the Seven and Eight. He therefore requires that all three of his down cards be ranked Six or below, without any pairs. In fact, his best low hand an Eight-low with 3-2-A as his down cards to make 8-7-3-2-A.

In this example all four of your opponents up cards are unduplicated low cards. He will make some kind of low if he has either a Deuce, a Trey, a Five or an Eight among his down cards. In fact, his best possible hand is a wheel. If his down cards are 5-3-2 then he can use these together with the Ace and Four to make 5-4-3-2-A.
