In the following exercises, your task is to identify which of the two five-card hands contains the better low.

A   B

Here Hand A is the same as the same Seven low as in the previous example: 7-6-5-3-A. However, this time it is beaten by Hand B, who has 7-6-4-3-2. Remember that low hands are assessed from the highest card down. Although both hands have the 7-6 combination, Hand B has the next lowest card, a Four, whereas Hand A has a Five. The Ace in Hand A only becomes significant to the equation when all four of the other cards are common to both hands.

Which of the following is the lower hand:

A   B

In this example it does all come down to the last card. The 7-6-5-4-2 low in Hand A beats the 7-6-5-4-3 low in Hand B.
