|
|
Hello!
As you may already know, the GCBPT is about to make its way to Bristol for the GRAND FINAL. Given that it’s only a couple of weeks away (1st til 7th of December), I thought you might appreciate a heads up that next week it’s the FINAL WEEK OF ONLINE SATELLITES(!) Don’t worry though, there are still 13 opportunities to qualify online from tomorrow (see: www.galapoker.co.uk) and a whole host of live satellites at local Gala Casinos (as ever, it’s www.gcbpokertour.com for all the details). And to juice the pot even more, Gala are adding bonus seats to the £1500+100 ‘Championship Event’ – 1st gets a WSOP package, 2nd Aussie Millions and 3rd EPT!
Also, we have Marty Smith, Vicky Coren and Joe Beevers (on a mission to defend his title) confirmed as playing – should be a good event!
Cheers,
Ollie _________________ I'm here as a representative of Gala Casinos. Please visit the GCBPT Facebook Group at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid...916&ref=share to find out more! |

I was going to travel to this from Ireland but having looked at the structure I'm having second thoughts, the absents of 150/300 500/1000 1200/2400 levels = crapshoot _________________ "I look into their eyes, shake their hand, pat their back, and wish them luck, but I am thinking, 'I am going to bury you." -Seve Ballesteros |

The festival page on http://www.gcbpokertour.com/ shows 60 min clock and 15,000 chips but when you click on '60 min' for the full ante structure it shows 10,000 chips.
I have emailed them and asked for a copy of the correct structure and will post it as soon as I have it.
I've seen worse structures even if it was the 10,000 starting stack but I think it is 15,000 for the final event.
It is a three day event with a couple of hundred players. _________________ Play poker with me at Full Tilt Poker |

I've seen worse also Joe but that doesn't mean we cant try and have structures improved where possible. The structure as posted including a 15k starting stack would of meant that the average bib blind would of dropped below 12 for sure at some stage during the tournament which is simply not good enough for such a prestige's event.
We are spoiled a little in Ireland in relation to structures, (bar the IO which needs a new level or two added ) for example the €1500+150 Irish Classic in Cork last August had a 75 minute clock 15000 starting and every level imaginable. With 180 runners, the average bigblind didn't drop below 60 before the final table and reached a tournament low point of 37 during the final. The tournament finished comfortably within the three days.
Anyhow best of luck in retaining your title, I'll more then likely play it myself. _________________ "I look into their eyes, shake their hand, pat their back, and wish them luck, but I am thinking, 'I am going to bury you." -Seve Ballesteros |

nic nic nic I agree with nearly everything you say. However I don't think you could really call it a crapshoot The WSOP was $10,000 starting stack over 4 days not so long ago and that was the longest structure of any found anywhere!
The GCBPT has now updated its website and there are three extra levels as stated above with 15,000 chips starting stack.

Thank for the good luck, I'll need it in this crapshoot, hope to see you there! _________________ Play poker with me at Full Tilt Poker |

Yeah I guess crapshoot was a bit melodramatic, structure looks a hell of a lot better now, good work imo, see you there.
Edit to say, any chance you could get a 500/1000 in _________________ "I look into their eyes, shake their hand, pat their back, and wish them luck, but I am thinking, 'I am going to bury you." -Seve Ballesteros |
