Frankie Boyle swells the growing ranks of people who think I'm an idiot.

I noticed there was a thread here about Frankie Boyle recently. Personally he cracks me up almost all the time and very occasionally he makes me cringe. I guess that what 'edgy' means. I started following him on twitter a while ago so that makes me a fan.
Today he tweeted this entirely inoffensive pop at the sea cruise experience:

"Can't decide whether to go on a cruise or spend 2 weeks living in an all you can eat buffet wearing rollerskates."

to which I decided for some reason to respond with the very mildly hilarious:

"Depends if you want to throw up over the side, or into the sides."

A minute or two later Frankie decided to out some of his followers whom he didn't think were the full picnic. He tweeted:

"Want to see exactly how stupid people are?" And then re-tweeted:

"@jefferino32: @frankieboyle they have buffets on cruises."

Now, I wasn't 100% convinced that @jeffrino32 wasn't pretending to miss the point and making a deadpan joke, but since Mr Boyle - who must have keen instincts in these matters - didn't seem to think so, I spotted an opening to make the joke myself. I tweeted:

"@frankieboyle Oh, is he wrong then? I thought they did too."

Frankie re-tweeted another - clearly dumb - tweet and then mine.
Now I don't know, and I'd like to think that he re-tweeted mine because he though it was hilarious, but in the context of his other tweets/retweets it kinda looked like he might have thought it was stupid too.
In any case I got dozens of messages from his followers, most of which were kind attempts to explain the joke I had clearly missed. Sometimes hammering home the point by calling me a moron or a mindless kunt.

Irony is a very overused word but I'm sure it can be correctly applied somewhere in this story.

The guy is a prikk. He made his name whilst edited by the powers that be. When let off his leash he's just another shock specialist who likes mocking the disabled and sick and the ethnic minorities in order to get a laugh..... quite retro really...... I thought he was a funny guy until i bought his dvd last year and changed my view after about 20 mins. Humourlous **** who got a break imho......
