This is a TCOOP event - My theory here was although just slightly below average, with the blinds going up every 5 mins i was going to choose a hand and go with it.
I think my reasoning was sound and i am trying not to be results orientated but.....

Picking a hand around avearge stack levels and going with it is never a reason for getting them in. This is a flawed mind condition and you need to lose it. Never think you must get them in, there are always options, don't take the obvious/easy one. Expand your mind to the outer thinking.
I'll review the hand open minded and post again. _________________ Update TBC |

Many thanks to whomever put it into a presentable format.
Thank you for your input sir.
Additional information within 1 minute the blinds/stakes were going up to 500 / 1000. This is a turbo, many moons ago when i dabbled in stud i was told get to a point, chose a hand and then go with it.
I believe (Rightly or wrongly) i would go with this. I am unsure from an MTT Limit stud perspective where the push point is.

I don't object per se to choosing a hand and going with it but why this one?
Q43s doesnt seem very strong to me with an open K ahead who has already raised and a 2,5,6 all showing. Only one heart showing is not bad but I just don't think the draw is nearly strong enough here to commit to it.
I am also not sure whether you really had committed to it tbh, why would you not 3-bet on 3rd street yourself if you really were committed to the hand? _________________ "Brandon Uhl @BrandonUhl

This actually smacked me in the face when i reviewed it again - I figured 3 to a flush and with only one heart on view this seemed ok, but when i looked through it again if i had truly committed i would of been jamming every street!! _________________ If i want a monkey i get a monkey! |

IMO there's no need to truly commit to a drawing hand like this on third street, unless you're shorter stacked than you were.
I would look to see fourth street for a small bet and hope to draw a heart, or at least something that gives your hand more of a chance. The J wasn't enough to continue in the hand IMO.
Also as KB mentioned, you didn't really commit to the hand - raise/re-raise is the only way to 'go to war' with a hand in stud. _________________ PS: Ulysses1975
