Its mainly a staffing issue.
We need 400+ dealers to work this event and although we are going to have the very best in the business working the event we will also have dealers who are relatively new (they will have been trained by us throughout the year).
Its more practical for us (and in the best interest of all the players that play) to set the structure with no antes because of the fact that some dealers will not be overly familiar with antes and will therefore not slow the game down at any tables. _________________ Super Poker Event of Europe 2012 - www.superpokerevent.com - 4,000 Players - €300 Buy-in - €1.2 Million Prize-pool (est) |

Hi Mindwarp,
At the moment Citywest Hotel are quoting a rate of €88 per twin room with breakfast included. I am working on them to get a much better poker rate (as there is a lot of competition from local hotels at the moment in Dublin) though so please do hold off from booking the room until I post here to update you on it.
Cheers for getting behind it so soon, we will be giving details for overseas transfers soon. You will be able to secure your seat with a €50 refundable deposit, or of course you can pay the entry in full if you prefer.
Cheers,
Stephen. _________________ Super Poker Event of Europe 2012 - www.superpokerevent.com - 4,000 Players - €300 Buy-in - €1.2 Million Prize-pool (est) |

All I would add is,
1) I hope it dont clash with the the Superbowl. I heard rumblings that the season may start and finish late, if at all, due to the legal ranglings in the NFL. Some people MIGHT not want to miss the Superbowl.
2) I hope there are some side events. All that way for one tournament would not be worth it for me. I like to know if I bomb the main event, I still have a chance of getting my airfare back. Thats only about £20 on Ryanair so I might even find that lying on the ground.
If those two things are good, then i'll be there for sure.

Side event schedule will be announced shortly but don't worry the weekend will be action packed. I would appreciate it if you held off on bringing any semtex or the like.
Cheers,

Hi everyone,
Registrations are starting to tick up now so just checking in to see if anyone needs help booking hotel etc.
The Citywest have a poker rate of €70 single (B&B) per night or €80 twin room (B&B). You should quote "Super Poker" to avail of this poker rate.
There will be a bus transfer available direct from Dublin Airport to the Citywest Hotel, to pre-book your seat on the bus just register on www.superpokerevent.com
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help in the mean-time.
To confirm your seat you can pay in full or pay a €50 deposit. Both the buy-in and deposit are fully refundable as long as withdrawal from the tournament is recorded before 6pm on Thursday 23rd February 2012.
We really would appreciate as many players as possible pre-paying now as we still have a long way to go to the 4,000 player mark but if enough players get behind it this early in the year it will really help us to reach every corner of Europe to attract players to the Super.
Cheers,
Stephen. _________________ Super Poker Event of Europe 2012 - www.superpokerevent.com - 4,000 Players - €300 Buy-in - €1.2 Million Prize-pool (est) |
