6600 runners 1250 left with 990 paid. I had an above average stack which was about 16k
No stats on villain as it was his first hand at the table!
Thoughts on how i played it? The flop bet was so if he called I had just under a pot size bet on the turn which I was going to make regardless of the card!
I was roughly putting him on a range like this; TT-22, AJs-A2s, KTs+, QTs+, AJo-A2o, KTo+, QJo.
AA-JJ AK/AQ he raises pre and all the others he folds atleast to my raise.
I think he's more likely to have a raggy ace then 2 broadway cards not including an Ace but vs his range I think im way ahead. _________________ #whenwillitend
I think I prefer check/shoving the flop in most circumstances here. This way we are not going to be forced to call off with our hand and we do have a fair amount of fold equity against the bigger stack. The shorter stack makes things a little annoying because if he reships the bigger stack lead we will have no FE but will also be priced into the shove anyway (he will show up with flush draws as well).
Leading the flop wont ever get the big stack to fold a raggy ace (who can reship/reraise) where a check raise will actually get some players to fold raggy aces which ideally we would prefer to fold rather than draw against.
