The four of us used to play a regular Monday night game in Hendon. Ross and Barny are obviously brothers and the four of us have been friends for a long time. It wasn't that we formed TheHendonMob at all. When two or more of us walked into a casino or card room somewhere players would invariably call out, 'Here comes the Hendon Mob', or 'Where's the rest of the Hendon mob'.

When Vicky Coren wrote an article for the London Evening Standard on 21st September 2000 (see Features and Articles) she needed a title for it. The headline was 'The Hendon Mob'.

The HendonMob website was born in August 2001.
