Makes you laugh, it really does. They spend more than the 11 countries after (combined) and yet they still think Bill Gates is a bad man.
It seems like America is built upon jealousy, I'm not as rich as Bill Gates therefore he's doing wrong. I'm no Rockefeller, therefore punish the successful man.
If Americans worried more about where THEIR taxes are spent, and less on who is rich, it could once again become the world super power. But the problem is that their own ego and paranoia is causing them to sink enough money to solve all the world's problem (I have no hard evidence, but I assume 700 billion+ could feed the world) into their military, which is no better than any other NATO Army (I've read a lot about American equipment and it's no better, and often inferior to European tech, and their soldiers are generally worse off than European counterparts).
What, honestly, do they have to fear such to spend that much money? Their country is in shits, no one wants to take it, so why bother?
I dare say the terrorists are winning, and are doing this on purpose. It's all good and well blowing up a building, but when you think about, it's not about killing people. Since America are so far up their own arses, they don't realise the 'terrorists' aren't actually a threat. They are ploughing so much money into defence that it's ruining their economy, the country is slowing declining, but American "1-up-man-ship" is blinding them of the true problem.
It may them trying to repeat history, look back 100 years at the Great Depression, what got them out of it? A World War, they flung money into the war, gave people 'jobs' and because of them, WW2 was won. (It also killed off a lot of people, which may or may not be on purpose.)
I was the one warning people about an upcoming recession years before it happened because I understood it. Most people didn't believe one was going to happen. Most people are still mislead about who caused the recession - clearly including you.
The ironic fact is, can YOU handle the truth. Here are the clear crystal facts:

I was talking more about the truth about wealth/income and tax which is what Savage is 'debating', than the causes of the world recession . Savage keeps banging on about how he's giving the true facts and 'statistics' but doesn't actually give any. He just dishes out abuse.
I'm sure he's a smart bloke and he knows his constituency. He probably knows for example that obesity is more closely linked to poverty than to 'laziness.' But that's not what he gets the big bucks to say. _________________ If it wasn't for luck I'd lose every tournament I played...If I wanted to manage a bankroll I'd be a bank manager.

Well you have kind of hit a raw nerve with me when it comes to taxes. Not only do I know that lower taxes leads to a much healthier economy but there is also a moral issue here. I imagine you are for a big government to order people by force to hand over their hard earned money, otherwise face jail (and in some countries you can be executed for not handing over your money). I have an issue with this as I believe people should be entitled to keep what they earn. Now we do need some taxes, but any sane individual or person who is read on this issue must know how government destroys wealth in virtually every possible way.
Governments are interested in increasing their power while also getting re-elected. Thus our money gets wasted on things like weapons for war and welfare. We can look to the invasion of Iraq which is not just a crime on Iraqis, but every British and American soldier and also British citizens (due to the perfect tool for increasing terrorists, hence the London bombings). In fact, Bin Laden was praying for one thing, and that was that US and the West invaded Afghanistan. This 'Al-Qaeda' was actually made up by the West and does not exist! War serves a small elite while making the masses suffer. All you have to do is look who are shareholders of certain oil companies and who benefits out of all this.
We then have the issue of welfare. The classic 'poverty trap' has caught many people in Britain nowadays. Plenty of people do not work because they are better on welfare. They have their rent paid, money for not working, money for having kids, the list is endless. We then end up having foreigners do certain jobs and and the lack of jobs among British people leads to a growing under-class. The working man, middle class etc pays for all this through government extortion which is called 'tax'. Governments also create inflation and drive up cost of living, therefore plenty of people simply work and struggle to get by.
Fortunately Europe has become less and less authoritarian over the years and Capitalism is the greatest things that has happened to humanity. This has led to standards of living increasing over time. We live better than our parents, who lived better than theirs. Our kids will live better than us. However, governments are currently sowing the seeds of major inflation which will cause a lot of pain.
Low taxes controls government spending. Your money can only possibly be invested, saved, spent, or given to charity. Every case above benefits the economy while every case where government is involved always leads to failure due to the moral hazards involved and no free market punishing mistakes.
I also believe stealing a lot of money from people is immoral. We are taxed on spending, earning, saving, through inflation, government borrowing and destroying our currency.

This is where you are going wrong. Nobody "earns" exactly what they get. Some are under-rewarded and some are over-rewarded. Also individuals have finite needs and we have finite resources. You can only sleep in one bed, sit in one room and eat one dinner. It is not healthy or moral for one person to have ten beds, ten rooms and ten dinners whilst others go hungry and live on the street because of it. Greed is immoral.

Money(the cause of poverty) is earned by the majority, and the majority create what is needed, the minority take the things that are needed and sell it back to the majority keeping more than a fair share for them selves
