Ok, so I dont have a lot of zoom experience, but I´m thinking the main differences to normal cash game poker, are that suited/connected cards have a bit less value as people seem to bet the pot a lot, therefore odds are reduced. Also A-J, A-10, KQ hands could get you into lots of trouble as most people are waiting on good hands, which would have these hands dominated.

Sets seem to be the best way to stack someone. There are a lot more people playing A-x, where x is pretty small, than I would have thought though. Which makes having an over pair a tough decision on an all-in flop. I tend to go with the theory that the bigger stacks have you beat with an over pair or a set, meaning top pair isn´t great, and the smaller ones tend to have only top pair, which makes top pair top kicker a good call.

But this hand, does this guy have a particular zoom strategy, or he is a donkey? Or 9 times out of 10 I´m beat, and this call is losing in the long run?

His flat call pre, made me think he had a small pair looking to hit a set, or a small suited ace. At first I was going to check raise the turn, but decided to hope for a blank, and expect a big bluff if I checked again.

But it was seeing his hand that made me curious. The amount of hands you can see per hour is huge, massive, so why would anyone call a raise with J-9o, with other players behind to act? As I say, not played that long, so cant believe he has much history with me, which could acount for trying to make a play in a normal ring game.

My main point is, I guess, does it make more sense to wait for big hands in zoom, or to try and run lots of bluffs? Would have thought the amount of action junkies, calling stations, and good regulars would not make bluffs the most profitable option, but rather a more abc tag approach, as most people dont know thats how you are playing as the players change every hand, therefore you are more likely to get action when you want it, than in a normal ring game? Or floating, check raising with air, and big river bluffs are good plays here, when I would think they have more value when you know the player more?

can only give my opinion of course

i think its important to tun pt or hem at zoom
for me its all about position first and foremost so hands like AJ AND KQ utg or early are insta fold
low suited connectors poket pairs and AK AQ plus KQs are the kind of hands i get involved with, but with action before me i will fold AK in late position

can answer why the donkey got involved with J9 though, but i see this lots of times

With my limited zoom/rush/speed experience... in a nutshell I'd say that you should adjust your play based on your stack as certainly your opponents will be eyeing your stack and adjusting their own play accordingly. So, kinda bluff more when you've chipped up quite a bit and if you meet a lot of resistance from a shortish stack - they have it. Ish.

As for opponent in this hand, 'belligerent balls' is the only term for this play I think. Mr. Green
