The £5 raise from Player 4 was a Mississippi straddle and not a raise. Player 4 checks when it returns to him pre flop. He had been straddling and super straddling most hands, but would check his options most times as in this case.
Player 1 was a passive player, but would push top pair, draws, etc no matter how the board is coordinated is.
I am the 2nd short stack at table in a full ring ,other players were away.
Should I have folded this on the flop? I was hoping to see a non dangerous turn and then make my mind up.

Huh??
Player 1 with Q 10. If they call the £20 then I can get away when the board pairs on turn. Mind you, still would have been hard to put either one on a set. I can't put Player 1 on AK as. I know they would have raised pre. Player 4 the Stradler is tricky and could have anything.
I know it was a gamble against 2 players, but just wondering if it is profitable long run with a low flush.
Am I right in thinking I would have been better off maths wise if Player 4 showed a pair with a high club?

Forgetting the pre-flop call etc, I think on the flop you have to be in the mind-set that you are currently in the lead. The chances of someone else having a higher flush is very low, particularly on a short-handed table. If someone has one higher-club in their hand, and potentially a hand that will dominate yours, we have identified where 6clubs are, meaning 7 remain=approx 28% of hitting, therefore you are 72% to remain the highest flush. The fact that someone has hit a set is your worse scenario, but still a hand you would like to get it in against on the flop as you remain favourite.
So personally I think its a snap-call on the flop, be happy to get it in. _________________ 'Impatience for victory only guarantees defeat' - Louis XIV

Thanks Pizzi, Sean & PS.
I think I was looking for vindication that I did not make such a dogs dinner of a call. You are right, if I am going to call/play 4,3c preflop, then it is a good flop. If the hands were turned over, I suppose it is even a snappier call.

Cheers Captain
I have been meaning to plan a HMF meet for a curry/Indian and then possibly poker. I know Bogus and Sprengers were interested. As The Int' is no longer, would you be able to make it to a Saturday Mint or Fox tourney?
