OK, this hand was played six-handed, with 11 remaining in a $5K, $33 rebuy. I folded pocket Tens to a shove from a solid player, but kinda hated doing so. My reasoning was that Nine got paid ($180 bubble) and there were two very short stacks hanging on. One more bust-out and we would be playing 10-handed, so a bit more breathing space. The table was playing pretty cautiously with shoves largely going uncontested. Would any of you guys be calling here? First place paid over $1500.

I think it's a fair fold. Do you want to be flipping or be a 4-1 dog at this stage for your stack ? If he's solid then a shove with worse than 10-10 doesn't seem very likely.

Where did you finish ?

The bubble burst very soon after, as it happens, and I managed to ladder up to 7th after going card dead, so not too disappointed with the decision to fold the TT. I think you can talk yourself into believing the villain has a mid pair in that spot, but too often he's shoving a bigger pair as well as AK and possibly AQ, so it probably is a clear fold. It's just that a win in that pot gives me a stack to compete properly, so it does rankle a liitle bit. Bloody ICM considerations!

I am never calling there, at best your gonna be flipping against a solid player so def a -Ev play. I would not be holding on just to cash but you should be finding better spots to get your money in.
