I have been trying to work out when the best way to be aggressive on the button is. Some hands that I would normally have just called with, I have been re-raising, in hope that position and strength of aggression wins me more/bigger pots.
Then I get 3 raised and have to fold with a hand like this....
I was on average stack with 230 players left out of 1200.
Am I being "too" aggressive with this hand here, the raiser was raising quite often preflop. I have been re-raising the button with hands like AK, T-T, J-J, of which I would normally just call there, or even fold.
But AQ I thought to try it and lost chips having to fold, what would you do there? _________________ stejens

dont see myself 3-bet folding vs a CO raiser.
Loads of dead chips too. yum yum _________________ The next best thing to gambling and winning is gambling and losing.

calling too 100% of the time
with the utg limping then calling the raise-he cant be that strong, plenty of times the c/o will see your three bet as a squeeze and 4 bet push with air, besides there are only really 1 hand he can have that sinks you

Mm, if you've been an active button, you're raising with AQ to call an all-in there, which might feel a bit out of control, but luck falls in different areas in different types of hands even if the percentages are the same.

The reason I re-raised was in hope that the better would just call, which means I can put him on a weaker hand at least, and bet him off it on the flop if he weak checks (and if I miss), most of the time when re-raising I notice players just call, If they make the move that he did, then it usually means they have something good.
I folded as the majority of times I've been in this situation I've been up against AA, KK, AK, and if none of them then at least a pocket pair which usually holds up.
Didn't want to risk my tournament life on a flip that I'm possibly beaten on, thought I'd fold it (just in case) and pick a better spot to keep building my stack.
I go out of most tournaments usually because I'm all-in with AK pre-flop, so had no confidence to be all-in with an AQ to a 3 better push _________________ stejens

At times it makes perfect sense to get your chips on and either go busto or get propelled up the list, obviously the state of the tournament and your position is a factor in that
did you know you would fold to a four bet push before you three bet ?
