Has anyone else on the forum done one of these secret cinemas?
Thankfully I hadn't paid but it was £35 a ticket and you meet up in an agreed location, in our case Euston station. You have to choose an occupation and dress accordingly and also take something along, in my case a manual or blueprint.
There were loads of people and we were led in to a large building and fairly obvious the genre of film we were going to see. Trouble was it was so noisy inside that when they made tannoy announcements that I couldn't make it out so we missed any of the things that we were supposed to do. I was also desperately hoping the film wouldn't be what I thought it was. But I was wrong it was ......
Spoiler:
Fecking Prometheus, if only it had been Alien or Aliens I would have been ok, but what is the point showing a film that most would have just seen and in my case didn't enjoy.
Film started and We walked out, what a crock of shite and waste of an evening.

my flatmate went to see this, he quite enjoyed it (for some reason, it was s**te).
however to be fair, it was well known that they were going to be shown Prometheus... You shouldn't have been that surprised! _________________ Not surprised Xavi's been replaced. His pass completion rate was only 89%. Useless.

Did they know before going or just during the evening? I was just clinging on to false hope that although there was lots of Prometheus stuff that's they would show Alien.
Mate did say he wasn't sure if it was shite or if we are just getting old. I
Think both are probably true.
As for what you get for the £35 ticket, + £20 boiler suit, £2 a bottle of water etc. It must cost a lot for the setting up of the warehouse with props and lighting etc and quite a lot of actors playing roles from the film.
You basically get a sort of role playing exercise where as an example if there was an alien outbreak the tannoy may shout all medics to the laboratory and anyone dressed in this costumer has to rush off the the lab. The fact that most of them are clueless including me when they asked me as to where it actually was meant that by the time you get to the area the incident had finished 10m minutes ago or others who couldn't be arsed after a while and stayed in one of the bars. In my case I never heard my role called once so wandered aimlessly around the building.
Looking back on it although it was a bit of a shambles I think the most annoying part was that I had only just seen the film. Others there had been to a previous one of One flew over the cuckoos nest and many of the audience were patients in a hospital type setting, they liked it so much they came back for this one.

Ahhh, so they don't actually screen the film then? I was thinking you got to go to a damp warehouse to watch a film you could see at the cinema, and paid through the nose for it.
Sounds like the sort of thing that would be popular with students and 'alternative' people, so not much interest from me.
If others enjoy it though, go ahead, have a blast! _________________ Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici

No, they did show the film, but I walked out as soon as the credits started.

Haha, I was thinking of people with piercings and ear tunnels, the sort of people you'd get a 'burning man' events. _________________ Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici

Before, I thought it was common knowledge - it was even in the daily papers at the beginning of June...
