Alreet,
It's coming upto Tour De France and I love it (but do not follow cycling at anyother stage of year)! (apart from when I watch GB at Olympics in Velodrome) - BRAG
Was just looking at having a punt to keep it interesting and couldnt believe that the odds on Bradley Wiggins were so tight - I know hes been awesome this year but this is one hell of a race.
Andy Schleck is injured so brother Franck will be leading their team this year but lacks the quality.
I know of Menchov and Hesjedal who are strong and Cadel Evans is good but in my opinion over the hill.
So who if anyone is betting on who and why? Some big odds out there |

schleck to place 1/2/3 can't be a bad bet... _________________ Not surprised Xavi's been replaced. His pass completion rate was only 89%. Useless. |

This year favours the time-trialists; Menchov always cracks big-time somewhere, winning the Giro pretty much rules out Hesejdal.
Haven't really followed the season at the moment, might get a decent price on Kloden/Leipheimer for the podium as they'll be expected to domestique for Schleck but Bruyneel likes to keep his options open and both are relatively strong time-trialists. |

Love le tour and really think Wiggins has a great chance but 5/4 odds are just way to short for such an event. He is in great form and more importantly his team are in great form, 2nd last stage of Dauphine was a great team performance.
Think Samuel Sanchez and Tom Danielson could be decent e/w shouts but will be keeping my money in my wallet for this event. |

Totally agree that the price shouldn't be so short on Wiggins. Le tour is a monster event any event with 5+ realistic winners and 2200 miles should be at least 2/1 lol
Saying that I will go for wiggins yellow, Cavendish for green, Van Garderen for white, Rabottini (for a punt) for polka dot _________________ @ryanpb |

hey guys , im very interested in having a bet on this myself , and iv recently been watching all of last years TDF stages again . as we all know its very much a horses for courses event where certain riders will not be seen all year and then suddenly put in massive improvement when the tour comes round and im sure plenty of the usual names will again be visible .
however i think i have found a rider that will put in a good show this year at a nice price , his name is pierre rollond , last year he had the job in the team of making sure tommy voekkler kept hold of that yellow jersey as long as possible by pulling him up the mountains like a diesel locamotive and holding off the big boys for as long as possible . it was not until they hit alp d'huez that voekkler finally ran out of steam which allowed rollond to show off his skills and power up the mountain for the stage win .
from what i have read this year rollond has moved to the number 1 in the team and voekkler has openly said that he will do anything and everything to help rollond after the what he did for him last year .
as we know evens and wiggins are at the front of the betting at very short odds and there is absolutely no value in backing either rider in an event like this where anything can happen over the huge test of endurance and danger . another big factor is that there is no andy schleck or contador which opens this race right up if either or both of the leading contenders crack .
outright you can find rollond around 5O/1 and i believe skybet or someone are betting without front 2 and have rollond at 14/1 which looks like THE BET !!
i could be way out with my prediction but as iv said i have done a little bit of homework on the event and hopefully its enough to win myself and others a few quid .
ride well !! |

Frank Schleck has failed a doping test, same team manager as Lance Armstrong had so the timing isn't great for him.
I'd assume this means Team Sky will take the lead in the team competition. |

Nibali is too short for me but expect him to be in amongst it. Froome would be a pick getting up but cannot see him descending to well on this stage. Have gone with the folowing as outright Stage winners for a tenner each.
Costa @ 44s on BF
TVDG @ 50s on BF
Coppell @ 150's on BF
Jelle Vanendert @ 90's BF
and real outsider but hope to trade if anything
Christian Vande Velde @ 270's on BF _________________ ------------------------------------------------------- |
