Couldn't find a CL final thread.......bet there would have been one if it had been Tottenham and would already be onto page 10 by now
Seriously though........well done to the Blues and all their fans. Not a great final to watch if you were a neutral but nail biting for anyone who wanted an English winner or who supported Chelsea. You literally couldnt have written the script some weeks ago.
Many will say that Chelsea were lucky.......but just like in poker.....you look at the long term and not short term variance. Since 2005 then Chelsea have had their fair share of bad luck (more than their fair share actually) and so if one team deserves a CL trophy for their sheer perseverance and being there at the latter stages then it is Chelsea and they deserve the luck for once.
Glad they brought it home......wonder if Nemesis will come on the forum today with gritted teeth _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk |

Congrats to Chelsea and was cheering them on although had my money on them winning by 90 minutes
Would like to have had a better final but sometimes you get games like this and last time Chelsea lost on penalties when they deserved to win so fair play to them.
Bit gutted for some Chelsea fans that may still be in Munich when the bus parade is on today. |

Of course you couldn't find a thread, last time Spurs won the League Cup we didn't hear the end of it though, 2 League cups in 20 years, LOL - and yes, Nem will be on later calling names, bring it on, call me what you want, I love you Nem!!
I must say that winning the Champions League is the most unbelievable thing I have seen in 30 years watching football, the comeback against Napoli, holding out against Barca, winning a final in Bayern's back yard, brilliant, absolutely brilliant...the hangover is killing me today...but just remember Nem...

| I find it amusing how hard they tried to buy it before backing into it with a decrepit team and a manager they don't really want. Happy they won because I always support the British teams. Unlike you, dear reader. |

May not be as many Thursday nights for Spurs as you think if "arry" picks the reserves again in the group stages.
Also......people can mention luck when they speak about Chelsea in the 2012 CL but as I said, you need to look longer term than just this season......Chelsea have DESERVED a CL in the period 2005-2012 and probaby more than one. But I have never been a fan of teams getting to play a major final inside their own stadium. I can get my head around the logistics side of it but surely an infrastructure can be put in place for back up stadiums to be used so that no one team can have that kind of advantage.
Its happened before and I recall Liverpool in 1984 playing Roma in the Olympic Stadium in Rome. Its bad enough with the final being played inside your own country but your own stadium. Any luck that Chelsea had in this tournament was offset hugely by having to play Bayern at the Allianz IMO.
HUGGGGGEEEEE CONGRATS to Chelsea once again on becoming the first London club to land the big one. _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk |

A team with ageing has-beens and never was.
A team with no direction and a fractural dressing room.
A team with no recognised manager and a random emergency caretaker
A team that was an underdog from the knock-out stages on.
A team that was easily the worst of the last 4.
A team up against the best team in the world
A team playing a european giant(9 finals/4 wins) in the final at home.
A team from england playing a german team and winning on pens
has there been a more british victory than this? _________________ The next best thing to gambling and winning is gambling and losing.

What a week in football.......City lift the title in dramatic fashion for the first time in 44 years after looking dead.......Chelsea win the Champions League for the first time ever in dramatic fashion after looking dead.........who was it who said about things coming in threes
England.......never won the European Championships and 46 years since a trophy and looking dead.......SURELY NOT
Like a numpty I am looking forward to the Euros and believing again _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk

Welcome to the big boys club Chelsea
Huge congrats to everyone connected to Chelsea. I've never seen so much spirit and determination to dig that victory out. There was so many times you's should have been out of this tournament and you's responded every single time when needed. Well deserved.

Tough on Spurs though you have to say......coming 4th and no CL.....I would be gutted if that were my club.
Still.......you have to believe in miracles if you support Spurs......maybe they will change the rules so that the team that comes 3rd in their Europa League groups will go into the knockout stages of the Champions League _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk |

You can stop being excited as I have just remembered........when I said that things come in threes.......they already have.....I forgot about Chelsea being 2-1 down in the Nou Camp on aggregate and down to 10 men and being "dead" and so all back to normal and we have got F*** all chance in the Euro's as four miracles in the same season is asking too much.
We are obviously going to tool it in the group stages now _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk |

Spurs have to go about the Europa slightly differently this time round
I for one will be cheering them on, Channel 5 lost the rights didn't they?
Does that mean I have to spend Thursday nights searching around the channels for 'Arry's boys?
