Deserved to go and was the most stroppy middle age man in the history of time.
They had a small period this season where they played really well and we're a bit unlucky but the league position is awful considering the amount he spent. |

Very good Tommy, it's a sad day for me today, because whilst I didn't want him sacked, I wasn't sure if it would of been the right decision for him to stay on for next season.
There have been positives this year, the football was largely very good in the first half of the PL season and we didn't get much luck (although I am a believer in the 'you make your own luck' factor). We did win a trophy and got to the FA Cup final, but in the PL, there was a massive loss of confidence in our play towards the end and the pace of our 'pass and move' play had slowed to pedestrian pace.
His biggest mistake was not buying a replacement for Lucas when he got injured and our midfield has been outplayed far too often. Ultimately, I think that cost us and we ended up too far behind the top 4 for the owners to think that it was possible to breach that gap under the current regime / squad next season.
What is positive, is that on the condition that they have a manager lined up, is that they will have the full transfer window to 'wheel and deal'.
As for the new manager, it has to be a long term project and the fans / club have to realise that a top 4 ambition for next season is possibly out of the reach (without substantial investment & when you consider the opposition) and the last thing LFC can do is replace another manager at the end of next season. |

While I wasn't surprised at Dalglish going......seeing AVB leading the betting this morning has come as a surprise. Not sure how the Kop will take to him at first and he will have to overcome the fact that he didn't do anything at Chelsea and his only success was at Porto in a much weaker league although he did land the Europa League.
The betting tends to sway a lot with managerial appointments unless somebody "knows something". Would still be surprised if he got the job though despite him being favourite......can't put my finger on why but it doesn't feel right to me. _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk |

| As a fan you'd surely want Brendan Rogers. Look how long Arsenal fans have been happy with nothing just because they pass the ball around. |
