Why are people posting just to be in the thread? weirdos.
Can't see why this would be true at all. Poker Stars to spend millions on giving money back to players who, if they are allowed to play by law, probably already play on their site. Doesn't make any commercial sense. Even less sense than the Tapie deal! _________________ @oneshotbobby on twitter |

| if full tilt re-opens pokerstars are looking at losing up to 60,000 players back to that site....better to have those players leave to play on "their" second site. |

| Quote: | PokerStars has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to buy FTP. The things I heard:
* All players will be refunded 100%
* Both sites back online
* Both sites have promotions
* Employees remain in both places
Expect more news today.
Mod note, NoahSD:
I don't know if this is actually true, but a number of inside sources contacted me to tell me to undelete this thread. So, this thread is staying open for now.

This pre-supposes there are other deals in the offing. Also, PokerStars doesn't get 60,000 users according to Poker Scout - are you sure of that figure? _________________ @oneshotbobby on twitter |

i'm basing those figures on the fact that around 75,000 players were on full tilt in the initial weeks after black friday...maybe it's reasonable to believe that 60,000 of those moved to stars. |

I hope this isn't true.
Pokerstars hold over poker is too strong already. |

something smells funny here, maybe Tapie was a front for a bid by Stars all along. Would have been a better way of keeping price down and staying arms length if all went wrong.
Either way when I finally get an email from new owners telling me how to logon and cash out I will believe it. _________________ "Brandon Uhl @BrandonUhl

I'm incredibly sceptical.
This is a huge outlay just to create internal competition. There must be something else going on here _________________ @ryanpb |
