Forbes rich list
1. Manchester United - $2,235bn (£1.4bn)
2. Real Madrid - $1,877bn (£1.17bn)
3. Barcelona - $1,307bn(£1.07bn)
4. Arsenal - $1,292bn £800m)
5. Bayern Munich - $1,235bn(£770m)
6. AC Milan - $989m (£615m)
7. Chelsea - $761m (£473m)
8. Liverpool - $619m (£385m)
9. Juventus - $591m (£367m)
10. Schalke 04 - $587m(£365m)
11. Tottenham Hotspur -$564m (£351m)
13. Manchester City - $443m (£275m)

"Manchester United's global fan base of 330m helps make them the most valuable team in any sport," said Forbes.com.

Bayern Munich and Arsenal make up the top five in the rankings, with Chelsea and Liverpool ranked seventh and eighth respectively.

Tottenham Hotspur are just outside the top 10 in 11th place, with Manchester City up to 13th in the list.

Forbes also revealed Manchester United are worth more than both Major League Baseball's New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League.

The Bundesliga’s Schalke 04 occupied 10th spot with a massive gain in valuation of 56% ($587 million). This was assisted by its surprise run to the Champions League semi-finals last season.

I wonder how much you could deduct from Uniteds value if you remove the effect that Alex Ferguson has had on the playing side of things. United would have still been successful and won stuff without him for sure but he must have added massive value to the club with their performances at home and in Europe as it is pretty hard to get into the top five without huge success on the pitch.

Pretty much makes what Arsenal have done very impressive in my book and yet people still amazingly knock Wenger.

Is it totally impossible these days to type in someones name into a post like Alex Ferguson without it being linked to a HM database entry ffs???????

I am now scared to mention the name of the little bloke from world war 2 with the dodgy hair cut and dodgy moustache who murdered six million Jews just in case.

Doesn't even have to be a name. As below.

If you want to own a yacht you need to be rich.

edit. Buggar. Last time, Yacht You linked to a name in the database

Just look at the difference between Liverpool's value and Utd's for the answer.
