I don't think it is, I am sure I saw that pic about a year or so ago.
Re. fans, yes all teams have their knob ed's and I have witnessed some horrible incidents, but I am not sure if minority is the right term though as it makes it sound like a small percentage. IMO the numbers are probably higher then people like to think.

Mathematically 49.9% is a minority . Like many are saying every club has its bunch of mindless twats, more's the pity. I think it is a very small minority who are 'activists' in this sort of thing with more following like brainless sheep because they haven't got the intelligence to think for themselves.

I may be wrong about this but IMO I think that sample size and geographical location have a lot to do with it also. In terms of sample size then I am referring to crowd size. A 2nd division club for example with 2k average gate may get away with it in terms of morons being on the terraces or at least they stand a greater chance than say Spurs who get 36k crowds or Liverpool with 40k crowds and Man Utd with 75k crowds.
Also many of the small teams come from small towns which tend not to have that horrible scum element or at least they don't have it as badly. But we have the inner city problem with conurbations and the people that eminate from them. So I think the bigger clubs are more likely to have the problem. _________________ Poker columnist at www.poker.co.uk |

to be honest when you go to old trafford you are hard pushed to get anybody to make any noise let alone abuse anybody. i think the main times this kind of "situations" occur are away fans. this is pretty much true of the england team to. i was caught within a particularly rough bunch of **** at a poland away match and they supported their teams with the sqame bigotry they supported england. a few had stopped going to home games entirely and a few more where nodding agreement like they were thinking of doing so to. Then we spoke about england they all concurred that the away games where where it was at. when i said i went to all england games they seemed to think i was wasting my time and money with home games. i am not sure what they were after. maybe the excitement of a new city to rampage or risk life and limb vs the police. maybe its an excitement lacking in their real life. i would like to hazard a guess. However for every scummer there are at least 10 decent people trying to have a good time. 30k chelsea fans at wembley and maybe 50-100 did the damage. lets concentrate on the 29k+ that wanted a nice day out. _________________ The next best thing to gambling and winning is gambling and losing.

Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!
Nem - you should be ashamed with comments like that, as a Mod, you are in a position of responsibility and should know better, its the sort of comment that antagonises people and causes problems. You should really retract your statement and apologise
Well done Spurs fans for clearing the stadium with 15 minutes to go, helped getting out a lot quicker!!
LOL at Mickey Mouse club and Mickey Mouse deluded fans, should have played Jenas |
Chelsea have now apologised for their fans actions:
"Chelsea said they were "extremely disappointed" and "embarrassed" after their fans failed to observe a minute's silence at the FA Cup semi-final.
The intended silence was meant to be a tribute to the Liverpool supporters who died in the 1989 Hillsborough disaster.
But after sections of Chelsea supporters disrupted the silence at Wembley referee Martin Atkinson was forced to cut the minute short." |
WTF?! Me and my old Man were silent, and my Dad was actually telling me how it nearly happened to Chelsea fans in 84-85, but supporters from the top tier pulled the crowded lower tier up - why have you quoted me on this?! Of course I disagreed with these people, and if any were within my close proximity I would have had a word
Sprengers post sums up things pretty well actually, I went to a semi-final at Old Trafford a few years ago, can't remember the year (but Jose did play Paulo at right hand side midfield ffs ), anyway, Liverpool won the match 2-1, afterwards I found out the Liverpool fans had graffitied stuff about Munich, have also heard Liverpool fans sing songs about Munich and seen them making aeroplane gestures, this is just as bad as what any Chelsea fan did yesterday imo
What Nem posted was wrong and his silence speaks volumes, these pages are usually good natured football banter, calling people "scum" is too far imo, but by far the worst thing I have seen, Hearts fans yesterday...

I am sorry that my post came across the way it did. I did not mean to make any kind of generalisation. When I posted that their fans were scum obv not all of the Chelsea fans but the ones who made noise during the minutes silence at yesterday's game for the Hillsborough disaster anniversary.
I posted in the heat of the moment and to all the Chelsea fans on this forum, I am sorry that it caused you offence.

Well done Nem, well done for being the bigger man - sure no-one bears a grudge
Of course you were frustrated yesterday, RDM's tactics were spot on, ever seen Walker or Ekkotto cross the halfway line less? Modric was stiffled, and bar two chances in the first half was a pretty one sided game |

I "stiffling".
Stiffling verb, intransitive To exuberantly seek sexual gratification. The word comes from the character Stifler in American Pie. _________________ @oneshotbobby on twitter |
