Afternoon All,
There will be £1000 ADDED into the PrizePool
I am very pleased to make you all aware TOMORROW is the Official Launch Night of the Cardroom @ the Paris Casino, Blackpool!
Thursday 12th April. 8pm Start. £30+£10+(£5) NLHE Bounty FO. £1000 Added into the Prizepool. 2 X £50 Super Bounties on 2 Premier League Poker Players
Unfortunately due to the late unavailability of the footballer I originally was in contact with for attending and having a £100 Super Bounty on his head. I then tried to find another player and another...... with no success due to more reasons than you could ever imagine. However.... their are 2 top class Substitutions taking place in the form of Premier League Poker Players - Kev Steele and Jon Kalmar!
Online Poker Phenomenon Kevin "The Real Deal" Steele - PokerStars Double Sunday Million Winner - £50 Super Bounty On July 17, 2011 at 18:30, Kevin Steele logged onto PokerStars and he registered for the $215 Sunday Million. Almost twelve hours later he had outlasted 6,181 opponents to scoop a bankroll-boosting $128,792.58. You may think “so what” because somebody wins the Sunday Million every week but download PokerStars and take look at who won this week's tournament. Yes you have guess it, Kevin “kevsteele” Steele!
Just four months after striking a five-handed deal then going on to finish first, kevsteele has won the Sunday Million again! This time he outlasted 6,966 opponents to help himself to $168,838.99 after the final four players agreed to a deal and then went on to finish first!
Winning the PokerStars Sunday Million twice in relatively quick succession is an amazing achievement but it is made even better by the fact Mr Steele is not a high volume player like most Multi Table Tournament grinders, in fact he is anything but a high volume player. According to Official Poker Rankings, kevsteele has only ever played 334 tournaments on PokerStars and most of those were low buy-in tournaments, with his favourite being the $15 180-man MTTSNG that are very popular on the World's largest online poker site.
Due to his low volume and these two epic wins, kevsteele has a Return On investment (ROI) of 2,557% which is unbelievable! But it does go to show that anyone can and does win the Sunday Million not just the big name pros and mass multitablers.
Live Poker Legend Jon "Skalie" Kalmar -WSOP Main Event 2007. 5th Place Finisher for $ 1,255,069 - £50 Super Bounty Jon “Skalie” Kalmar was the last British player remaining in the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event when it got down to the final table. From Chorley, Lancashire in the U.K., Kalmar had a successful online poker career for two years before heading into the event.
He previously worked full time in an IT job and as a consultant, but quit to have more time to play poker. His new career, in his own words, is “poker geek.”
In 2005, Kalmar headed to the World Series of Poker and went up against thousands to play in the Main Event. Having only cashed in two small live events in 2004 and 2005 (he won the latter), his 82nd place finish in the Main Event was respectable, especially considering the 5,619-person playing field.
But the $91,950 payday wasn’t the big score he was looking for. He was looking to win the "Big One” that would set him and his family up for life.
He continued to see success in 2005, with a 10th-place finish in the European Poker Tour Irish Winter Festival of Poker, pulling in a €11,900 payday.
In 2006, he returned to the WSOP and made a small cash in the $2,000 No-Limit Hold’em event. Since then he’s continued to cash in smaller events as well as maintained a thriving online poker career.
Known for his lack of fear at the poker table and his disregard for money, that may have been just what it took to do well in the 2007 Main Event. It certainly did hurt the Brit any as he made it all the way to the final table.
Unfortunately he went out in fifth place, but he didn’t walk away empty-handed. Kalmar joined the World Series of Poker millionaires club with his $1.2 million cash.
It was a certainly a big cash and could've be the “Big One” he was looking for, but ultimately Kalmar is still without that win. Perhaps we’ll see more of him now that he’s got a taste for glory and those coveted WSOP gold bracelets.
I hope to see you all there tomorrow. For what should prove to be an enjoyable eveving with a lot of Poker Action taking place in both the Tournament and Cash Games.

PLEASE NOTE
Membership
**Previous Paris Casino members - Can bring their old membership cards & they will then go through the relevant process and be issued a new membership card.
**New Paris Casino members - Need to bring I.D either a **Passport or **Driving License or **Bank Card and Utility bill (combined)
Buying In
The Buying In over the phone facility for registered casino members unfortunately is still not in place as their is an issue with the streamline and programme @ the Cash Desk.
Due to current capacity of 100 cap plus alternates; to that end I would strongly recommend buying in directly at the Cash Desk ASAP or arriving early TOMORROW to buy-in to the Tournament. I do not wish to see any disappointed faces (well unless a 1/2 outer outdraw has just occurred) as they turn up late into registration expecting a seat when max capacity is hit!
See you all there _________________ Best Regards, Poker Manager, Paris Casino, Bloomfield Rd, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY1 6JL
