Did you know, facetious is one of the few English words to use all the vowels once?

Look up DVD ripping.

What's amazing is that they are in alphabetical order also.

Get some software called Handbrake. http://handbrake.fr/

It's free, mac or windows.

Use it to rip you cd to a file, put the file on your usb drive. (Or set your drive as the target)

It is lucky that this is an exceptionally friendly forum and not 2+2 where threads like these would get immediately locked and OP receiving a warning for being a noob.

Yep, meant to put dvd!

Pretty idiot proof, set your input source, select a preset for the output, tell it where to save the output to, press start.

depends what you mean.

if you mean keep it in the dvd vob format. you can and depending on the size of the usb keep most of the quality of the original.

if you mean rip a dvd and convert it you can also do this and you can get a dvd down to 700-900mb. you can also make massive rip files but no matter how big the file or how big the ripped file as a % you will always lose some quality. maybe not noticeable but some.

i would suggest converting to avi or mp4 depending on what you want to do. if you want o play it on 60 inch players then use mkv
