I've just started my journey with 'smokegreen' ecigs... quite impressed with the vapour volume and the menthol flavour. (Tabacco flavour was like loving Coke and being served Diet Coke) Anyone else tried electronic cigs? ( how real tobacco cigarettes now called 'analogs' by the new generation. ) _________________ "I find it's best to start the day with no composure and then you've got nothing to lose." B. Boatman

I've been on the robofags for 5 months and 11 days, still going strong.
I recommend this forum, which has a nice villagey feel to it
http://allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/
for advice and support.
Currently on Ego 900 batteries and Vision Stardust CE4+ clearomiser, about to buy a Lavatube to replace the batteries at home. Flavours Grizwalds Strawberry Ice Cream and Apples and Pears, both from vapeescape.co.uk . Fruity!
So I feel healthier, spend about 1/3 as much and enjoy it more than smoking with no guilt.
Good move imo. When you're starting, keep the nic levels high enough so you don't go back to the nasties. |

Cool I'll check out the site. Ya, I was ordering new cartridges mostly in zero nicotine and the guy from smokegreen said to me - really I recommend it's too soon for you to go zero - stick with the low and any unopened cartridges you want to exchange later we'll do free. I'm really liking it a lot - but the size is awkward (size of '100's in the states) I've started with the menthol (I never smoked menthol cigs) and I enjoy it. Can't wrap my head around the foodie flavours yet but I look forward to experimenting. _________________ "I find it's best to start the day with no composure and then you've got nothing to lose." B. The best ones (imo) are not cigarette shaped at all. I quite enjoy people giving me funny looks now.
I found my tastebuds and sense of smell went mad after a couple of weeks (recovering from the tar), and now I can't stand tobacco flavours, it's like chewing a tramp's underpants. |

I WANT the rebellious bit and the awkward glances! I'll check out the ones you mentioned. Yep the tobacco flavour's horrid and I wish the menthol was more pure peppermint. If this was around when I started smoking... well, I wouldn't have. _________________ "I find it's best to start the day with no composure and then you've got nothing to lose." B. Boatman

I've been vaping for over a year now and I think that it is a great alternative to conventional smoking.
I currently use the ego-t and I buy my liquid from Totally Wicked. I used to enjoy the fruity flavours but now I prefer the tobacco based flavours. |

Tell me you don't vape Totally Wicked Red Label Virginia - I won 500ml of it and nobody will buy it from me. I can't touch baccy flavours.
It's definitely picking up in popularity. I tried Ego T for a while, pretty tidy system. A lot of people are saying Imists are a better version of the same system, they've just come out.
That's the downside of vaping - shiny tech you can easily afford because you've given up tobacco. So tempting to spend the difference. |

Overwhelmed! Just checked out the newbie threads and geez I never knew how complicated this could be - talk about spoilt for choice... eGo seemed best fit for me I think - but, in your experience Leus, which one is good where there is a large choice of flavours? I like the behavior and battery life of my smokegreen, but there are only 4 flavours. (apple, tabacco, menthol, coffee) and none appeal to me except menthol.
I've just epiphanied on your strawberry ice cream flavour - I want to be able to switch around based on how I'm feeling at the time. Can you recommend for me please? As in eGo model etc? _________________ "I find it's best to start the day with no composure and then you've got nothing to lose." B. Boatman

You can get this stuff from several places.
This is the battery I use, one for charge and one for use
http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/joye-ego-t-900mah-battery~306
or this is basically the same, a bit longer lasting (900mAh v 1000mAh)
http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/joye-ego-...00mah-battery~213
and you'd need a charger, fiver (£) at most.
That's the power end, the easy bit. The batteries above give you a wide range of connectivity (it's called a 510/Ego connection, the most common standard).
One criticism of the sort of kit you have is that it's designed to limit you to one supplier, 510 kit will open your options up. These are manual batteries too - you have to press a button to make vapour, and you can turn them fully off if you want to stick them in your pocket. Some of my best funny looks come from vaping from a shirt pocket.
Now the business end. You may be able to refill the cartridges you already have with commercial juice once they lose flavour, maybe using a syringe, but they will eventually go pop or gunge up.
The tricky bit is at the business end.
You should take a few days to work out what's going on.
This starter kit for example
http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-vape-...-liquid%2A%2A~304
gives you cartomisers, which are a reasonable choice for new users, effectively what you're already using but a 510 thread. They can be filled with any juice you like and I got through about 4 or 5 a month, costing about £6 for 5.
If you're happy with the nic strength you're using, keep to that strength, but the kit we're talking about is probably more efficient at delivering vapour.
You can try other 510 things on the front. I use these
http://www.safercigs.co.uk/Vision_Ego...5283_5779009.aspx
but there's loads of choices, and they all have pros and cons. The con of this tank is that it needs a bit of maintaining.
But take your time and use up what you've got if it's working for you. It's confusing at first and takes a while to get used to the jargon. I don't know the Irish market too well, either. I'm happy to answer questions, but a forum is a good option if you need a fast answer or several opinions. Also you find discount codes for trusted suppliers there.
This is a pick and mix for juices, you'll find Strawberry Ice Cream there, if you want a specific nic strength get in touch with Jason on that site and he'll sort you out
http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/grizwald%...k-%27n%27-mix~133
I worked out the long term cost including 6 month battery replacement with cartomisers is roughly £12 a week, less than two packs of English fags, for a twentyish a day smoker.
Hope that's helpful.

Thanks a million Leus. All this welcome info will take a while to digest. I'm still awake, railing stowjon in a micromillions, but not quite able to decipher at this hour.
My instinct is telling me I'm going to enjoy this far more than I ever enjoyed 'analogues' _________________ "I find it's best to start the day with no composure and then you've got nothing to lose." B. Boatman

Okay so i've been looking at those electronic cigarettes in the shops for a while & thinking "I wonder". Been a 40 a day guy for as long as I can remember & have tried just about everything at some stage but the will power hasn't been there. This thread has made me take a closer look at it on the interweb and I bit the bullet & ordered a EGO starter kit last night, went for this as it was under $30 and I didn't want to go mad until I had tried it.
So fingers crossed that this will help kick the habit. |

Nice one. For a 40 a day man you'll probably want 24-30mg juice strength. You can always turn it down later if you want.
I think it's worth a try, I was a committed smoker. There's no willpower required, but it's a bit more faffy and technical than cigarettes, so quite easy to make mistakes at first. |

Have cut the tobacco down by at least 75%... Some days I roll and smoke one cigarette only - stress levels are the key. Still working on it but good grief my lungs feel so much better. _________________ "I find it's best to start the day with no composure and then you've got nothing to lose." B. Boatman
