This Saturday an unofficial 'THMF' team will be playing a team event in the Black Country equivalent of Las Vegas aka Wednesbury, West Bromwich. Myself, Ranny, DarrenSprengers & 2 ringers are in our team BUT a space has become available for one of the teams.. Does anyone fancy a game? It's an all-dayer starting at 12pm..
Run by
http://www.blackcountrypokerclub.org/
Details as follows........
This years event will be very similar in its format to the one in 2011, which I felt was a great success.
The only difference will be that we will probably have 12 teams of 5 instead of 10.
The payouts will be as follows :-
IF 12 teams
6 x 10-handed tables with the winner of each receiving £50. Each player plays 3 of these and can potentially win £150 by winning all 3.
The top-scoring overall player will receive £220
The top-scoring team will win £250
The winning team will receive a £430 Genting Poker Series seat of their choice plus the BCPC Team Championship Trophy to keep for 1 year.
IF 11 teams :-
5x 9-handed tables and 1 x 10-handed table with the winner of each receiving £45. Each player plays 3 of these and can potentially win £120 by winning all 3.
The top-scoring overall player will receive £160
The top-scoring team will receive £250
The winning team will receive a £430 Genting Poker Series seat of their choice plus the BCPC Team Championship Trophy to keep for 1 year.
Each player from each team will play 3 x NLHE SNGs with a 3000 starting stack and a 15-minute clock. Players will gain points for their finishing positions in each game as follows :-
1st = 10pts, 2nd = 7pts, 3rd = 4pts, 4th= 2pts, 5th= 1pts.
At the end of the 3 rounds, the TOTAL points gained by EACH player in EACH team will be added together and multiplied by 100 chips and that will give each team a starting stack for the Final Table, although only the top 10 teams will contest this.
In the event of a tie, the following tie-breakers will be used to determine which teams play at the Final Table, and/or which team finishes first overall
1. Most 1st place finishes in the team
2. Most 2nd place finishes in the team
3. Most 3rd place finishes in the team
4. Most 4th place finishes in the team
5. Most 5th place finishes in the team
6. Highest scoring individual player
7. 1000-chip Turbo Heads-Up game (Captains choose the players) with a 5-minute clock.
Once the teams and chip-stacks have been determined for the Final Table, the highest scoring player in each team will play in this game. In the event of a team having more than one player as their top-scorer, the Team Captain will then decide on which player shall participate. The team for whom the winning player is a member shall be deemed BCPC Team Champions 2012.
The winning player at the Final Table will be the one who contests the Genting Poker Series seat on behalf of his team and should he cash, he will keep 50% of any monies won + £400 and the rest will be split equally between the other 4 players in his team. (e.g. £1300 won, he would take off £400 = £900, then keep £450 of that and the other 4 players would receive £112.50 each.)
It is the responsibility of the winning team to ensure the safe-keeping of the trophy whilst it is in their possession and should it become damaged, the BCPC would expect a replacement to be purchased at a cost of approx £80-£100.

Sorry for my bad memory, which team did your star player represent in the team who came 2nd, vs the team who recently won a team event debate?
Good job all the same! |

Dead leaders who fight at the front are no good to the troops. They are there to lead and manage, not die in the persuit of personal glory.
I'm amazed at Seans ability to manage external teams to victory whilst looking after the stable of A Team players.
You could learn from him Jon. _________________ Update TBC |

Top effort Gary and congrats Darren on your outstanding performance.
WP
I should also add, that during the GPS event last week, Gary took the time out to see I was struggling (even in a singles event, he still cares about his team members). He gave me a pep talk and much needed encouragement, he also ensured that the drinks were been delivered to my table by the cutiest waitress. The man is a true leader. |
