Legalize poker in Northern Ireland

Simply put, poker should be legalised in N. Ireland. It makes no sense that games of chance, such as bingo and slot/fruit machines, as well as bookmaking, are all allowed while poker, which is a game of skill requiring maths, game theory, psychology and more, is not permitted. Lobby your MLA and local councils to change the law to make poker legal in N. Ireland.

We're working hard to get the word out, via FB, Twitter, Poker Forums, and live poker venues throughout the UK and Ireland. We're also compiling a list of talking points in preparation for meetings we hope to arrange with MLAs, particularly those MLAs on the Social Development Committee which has responsibility for gaming. We have managed to get a meeting with a local MLA this week:D

We have also submitted a petition to the UK on line petition web site, and we are waiting for confirmation that our submission has been accepted. Once it is accepted, we will need to get 10,000 signatures to insure that legalisation of poker in N. Ireland is debated at Stormont. We will advise as soon as we hear.

We now have an e-petition set up via the web site GoPetition.com. Our goal is to get as many signatures from N. Ireland residents in the next 60 days, and then get a supportive MLA to introduce the petition in the Legislative Assembly on our behalf.
