|
|
The £10,000 International spin up!
Here at The International we don’t like doing things by half and that includes our promotions. With our brand new fully refurbished cash game area with 4 large plasma screens, new carpet, fully fitted new sumptuous bar with draught beer, a wine list of an exquisite calibre and carefully designed décor making it one of the nicest venues in Old St now open for your playing pleasure, we thought that the least we could do is put on something that will literally blow your minds… (and our pockets!)
Our first thoughts were possibly a bad beat jackpot… Nah… money out of the player’s pockets and all those questions about missing money!
Another cash race? Been there, done that and again more cash out of your bankroll.
Then it hit us. Why don’t we give away £10,000 to our cash players with no contribution from them? After getting a little light headed we looked at this a little closer and with much discussion over copious mugs of tea and custard creams this is how we decided it will work:
Starting on Monday 21st March the club will put £500 into a jackpot. This will go up £500 everyday until it reaches £10,000. Once it hits there the jackpot will stay at £10,000.
Every time the flop contains 3 cards of the same rank, 8s or better (i.e.. 888, 999, TTT, JJJ, QQQ, KKK, AAA), one cash game player who is sat at that time will get a spin of the International wheel. A random draw will take place of all cash players seated. This wheel has 52 positions on it and one of those is the jackpot. When the jackpot is won it will be split like so: 50% to the lucky spinner and 50% is shared amongst the rest of the cash game players.
A few things you should know:
• The wheel can be spun more than once a day and sometimes not at all depending on the flop.
• ALL currently seated cash game players irrelevant of game or limits played will be included in the random draw.
• There has to be more than 5 cash game players playing in the club for the jackpot to be won.
• Every spin will be completed in front of 2 senior members of staff and a CCTV camera will be placed in front of the wheel to make sure this is operated in the fairest manner possible for all concerned.
YOU LUCKY PEOPLE!!

seems like a money for nothing promotion to me so hats off to the int club again.
BUT
i cant see the reasoning between there must be 5 or more cash players playing surely a flop is a flop no matter how many people are playing.
Does the cash table have to be dealer dealt or are self dealt tables included.
i play at the int very rarely and these are just a couple of questions that i expect to be raised by regs. _________________ "There's not enough hippies to save our lives, We need more hippies" |

After only 35mins of the promotion starting Nigel Mok dealt AAA on the flop and with six players in the £1-£1 game a random seat was drawn.
Lucky seat 1 got to spin the wheel....And he missed it by one!!

Hi Stowjon, glad you like it.
All games at The International are dealer-dealt.
We ask for there to be at least 5 players in the club at the time so that a decent number of our members will benefit when it's hit.
It is quite rare that there would ever be just one table running and fewer than five players, anyway. |

Looks good.
My estimate of value for anyone interested:
7 flop combos from 22,100 = 3157 flops for a spin (this is optimistic, because people play high cards)
Average of 3157*52= 164,164 flops for a jackpot.
@20 flops/hour = 8208 hours per jackpot.
Jackpot EV is £10k/, say, 8 players on average = £1250.
Bonus EV = 1250/8208 = ~£0.15/playerhour (after 20 days, proportionally less before) _________________ http://www.alexbowler.com |

Why only 7 flop combos? Maybe 28?
Why only 20 flops per hour? Do the dealers at the International deal with one hand behind their backs? It's holdem not omaha. |

You're right about the flop combos, how embarrassing.
So its £0.60/playerhour. Which is far better than most promotions which actually cost additional money to the player. Particularly for example at the Empire. _________________ http://www.alexbowler.com |

The International was already buzzing from the conclusion of the London Poker Masters Main Event when "SPIN THE WHEEL!" boomed out from the cash area.
The lucky seat called was that of Huseyin Cifci who stepped up and gave the wheel an almighty spin!
It felt like it went round for an age before finally clicking round to the :
It was as if it went in slow motion but the whole card room erupted!
£1750 for Huseyin and £73 for everyone playing cash!!!!!

The Spin-Up jackpot was hit again at 6.30am this morning!!
The wheel was spun by Jaz, who was in the Dealers Choice game. He wins £750, with another £750 split between the eight other cash players in the club.
Now the wheel re-starts at £500 and goes up by £500 each day.... How long until it hits again?
