| I agree with you on the adapting but not on the playing of too many pots.Online pros are invariably multitabling so they will make 'standard' decisions which are good six or seven times out of ten online but if you can play pots profitably then you should play them. |

Great article as usual. Richard Ashby is one of the best multiple game players i have had the pleasure of being at a table with. Was at his table for most of Day 1 of the 1500 O8 tourny i entered. really genuine guy and really down to earth considering he had just won a bracelet. _________________ The next best thing to gambling and winning is gambling and losing.

| I read it again. Did I say not to play too many pots? I can't find that bit. I like to play lots of pots, nothing wrong with that, I didn't mean to suggest that. |

A bit :-
"I was just thinking how Jon Turner, who was on my table in the $1500 Six-Max last year also, plays way too many pots and three-bets way too often in the first level, when we got broken. I then proceeded to play way too many pots on my new table."
I like to go for it from the start particularly if it's 6 max. There should be more donators on the table at the start.GL if you're playing in Vegas. |

| Ah yes. Sorry, my amendment to that is 6-max. Imo people go crazy. It's like it's 3-max. I think it's often a dick-measuring contest at the start and I see lots of people busting in ridicilous fashion trying to steel blinds that they don't really need. |

I don't know about live play but all other things being equal this is a good style online imo where the objective is to bump up the winrate by going deep in a lot of games.Six out of twenty is obv more profitable than three out of ten. |

Busting in a ridiculous fashion trying to steal early level blinds is a good stlye? Not sure what the 6 out of 20 is better than 3 out of 20 has to do with playing crazy either. |

You're not trying to steal the low blinds, you're either trying to steal the 3-bet,4-bet pot against others who are 3/4 betting light or getting a flip in before you've wasted hours with just your starting stack. It may look ridiculous when average cards are turned over but there is a lot of skill to it.If you're a winning online player the more games you can cram into the same time the better the winrate. However it doesn't make much sense to do this live as you can't multitable live!I suspect the online players don't adjust their game (which is the theme of the article) and feel more comfortable playing with big stacks early. |

I think you may be talking at cross purposes here.
What Neil is saying is that earlier on in live tournaments that are 6 handed people play far too loose aggresive than is optimal and get into dick measuring contests (5 bet pf bluffs in dumb spots etc)
He is saying people play 6 handed tournaments like they are 3 handed. By too many pots I assume he means they are entering 80% of them as opposed to 30-40%. |

I'm not criticising the article,it was excellent,I'm just explaining why some players go for it from the start.VPIPing 80% would be pretty hardcore.I note durrrr propped that he would record most pots played in level 1 at the wsop me.I doubt whether that was optimal. |
