Up to see the in-laws next weekend and am looking for a decent golf course just outside of Peterborough
Anyone know of any decent courses?
Not too expensive please _________________ We can all blame Sundance for this |

I would suggest either Orton Meadows or Thorpe Wood.
Both good courses, and decently priced.
Talking of Orton Meadows, I'm sure last night I typed out a huge story concerning a round of golf I had there.
What happened to it I wonder _________________ "Democratic systems are all supported on a basis of coercion sanctioned by the use of force"

You've played Orton?
Might have a look...wouldn't mind a course review or something, will have a look online
How did you score Reg? _________________ We can all blame Sundance for this |

Yep Ortons a nice old course, with a good 19th hole which serves good booze and cheap grub.
I played there yesterday, went round in 71, net 67 which is dead on par.
All this using 1920s hickory shafted clubs _________________ "Democratic systems are all supported on a basis of coercion sanctioned by the use of force"

A very good point.
Why was that removed? _________________ "Democratic systems are all supported on a basis of coercion sanctioned by the use of force"

You sound pretty good Reg
With some modern clubs and some regular play you could be a scratch golfer...come to think of it I may even back you against someone
I guess you could say that if someone suggested that you take up the game for a living, "its something you may consider" _________________ We can all blame Sundance for this |

I played bowls once, it was suggested to me that I take that up professionally.
Oh what could have been. Bit past it now, such a young man's game. |

I've only ever played once, and wished I'd played again, its actually a very good, tactical game of skill which unfortunately doesn't really make for good TV
Who suggested you went pro Grumble? _________________ We can all blame Sundance for this |

Believe it or not, I have about 30 bowls trophies in the garage.
I used to play, along with 3 old mates in the village.
We started when we were 14/15, finished though when we were about 19 as the locals were slagging us telling us we were too good, and to bugger off out of it and go play somewhere else _________________ "Democratic systems are all supported on a basis of coercion sanctioned by the use of force"
