Player 2 is an old guy, had been raising some dodgy hands pre-flop, esp OOP and would bet any time they caught a piece of the flop.
Hero is a strong player, potential world beater.
Blinds 300/600
Player 1 - Fold
Player 2(14500) - Raises to 2100
Player 3 - Fold
Player 4 - Fold
Player 5 - Fold
Player 6 (SB) - Fold
Player 7 Hero (BB) (15000)- Call
Flop: 6h, 8s, 3s
Hero - Check
Player 2 - ALL IN!
You're the hero with KK, what's your move? Hmmm, this is a tough one. |

Obv this was a slightly facetious post and a way to lead into the impeding bad beat story.
I obv snap called, he tabled 6-9 off and proceeded to catch a 9 on the turn. I was left crippled and soon found myself on the rail. GG me.
Still enjoyed my first live poker tourney though and TYVM to the Mob for putting me in. If it wasn't for luck and all that.... |

0 thought needed. Snap call. His range is garbage/draww/maybe a pair+draw. Bigger hands are almost always c/r here. If he has top two we still have 23-24% equity in the hand.
You are rarely behind here. |

To be fair, he would have probably called a raise anyhow and the end result would have been the same!
That reminds me I still have to post a couple of hands from this - will dig out my post-its later! </thread hijack> |

Was written a bit tongue in cheek but I'll bare your stellar advice in mind next time I'm walking past a grease fire. I didn't raise pre because I was looking to trap him into c-betting most flops with his air/ weak hands. Hope that makes sense. |
