Garrett doubles up
Mark James got it all-in pre-flop with pocket sixes against Gregory Garrett's pocket aces. There was no help for the weaker hand and Garrett doubled up. He has a big stack now while James is down to the felt.

Buckman creates Rod for own back
Action was folded to Rod Buckman in the small blind and he made a large raise to 16k. Big blind Ian McWilliam moved all-in for an additional 37k. Buckman looked like he now regretted the size of his raise and pondered a while before releasing his cards.

Geary makes his move
After harry Zamitt had raised to 10,000 under the gun, George Geary re-raised all in for 16,600 total. Everyone else folded although Bryan Donovan gave it some serious thought and Zamitt made the call for just 6,600 more.
A Q for Zamitt and A K for Geary.
10:spade: 4 7 4 5 brings no improvement for either hand and Geary doubles up.

Niko Hanninen moved all-in in middle position for around 25k and was called by Mustafa Sepanji in late position. Big blind Zacahary Ford seemed to have a decent hand and gave the situation some consideration before decideing to get out of the way. Sepanji was in great shape with A K against the young Scandinavian's A J but the first card out - the J - proved decisive. The remainder of the board read 5 3 9 6 and did nothing to swing the balance back in Sepanji's favour. Hanninen's fortunate double up puts him back in the hunt.

Down to three tables
J Morgan's recent elimination at the hands of W Shahid means we are down to 27 players and therefore our last 3 tables. |

Garrett slams brakes on Ford
Zachary Ford raised to 7000 on the button and Gregory Garrett called in the big blind. Flop K T 9 and turn 3 were checked by both players. Garrett bet 10000 when the A fell on the river and Ford raised to 30000. Did the ace help him or was he taking advantage of a scare card to bluff a nice pot? It didn't take long for Garrett to work out that his A 6 was worth the extra 20000. Ford mucked his hand as soon as Garrett's chips crossed the line.

Findlay Doubles.
It's folded to Ngo who raises to 13,000 in middle position.
Alistair Findlay moves all-in on the small blind for 43900 more and after a couple of minutes thinking, Ngo calls and shows A K
Findlay looks in very bad shape with his AQ but he flops a Queen. They both hit an Ace on the turn and there is no King on the river to give Findlay a pot of around 95400 and goes above average chips.

Stop Ngo
After Lynne Beaumont had raised to 12,000 Billy Ngo comtemplates his best move in the big blind. After a little thought he raises to 27,000 and it doesn't take long for Beaumont to call the 15,000 more.
When the flop falls 6 7 4 Ngo wastes no time in getting the rest of his chips in and in turn Beaumont quickly calls. Someone on the rail predicts kings and queens and whilst one of the those predictions is correct, the other hand comes as something of a surprise.
Ngo shows Q Q whilst Beaumont has 8 9
There is no straight forthcoming for Beaumont but the J 5 give her the flush and she has Ngo covered. Ngo's had a tough time of it recently and now he's out of the tournament.

Ash's to ashes
Ash Hussain moved all-in in early position for 28k. It was folded round to Bryan Donovan in the big blind who obviously thought he knew something everyone else didn't and called with Q 7 . That was never going to be ahead of Ash's A Q . However, the board fell Q 7 5 J 9 and Donovan's "creativity" was rewarded. Hussain hit the rail in a huff.
