Awight?

I've always said one Xmas day I'd have me dinner in a pub somewhere but never got round to it
This year though is different, I booked up a table for 8 (including Ben) in the Cock and Bell in Long Melford
It's a great boozer, John the landlord is cool and I've never had a bad bit of tucker out of there.

Anyone else having Xmas dinner down the boozer?

Yeah I think Spoons do one for a lot less but me and Ben had a dodgy bit of grub there the other day
Ben had a chilli dog and I had lasagne n chips
Well, at 9pm our guts was like a washing machine
We had the wild shites and next morning Ben woke up and spewed his ring up in the kitchen sink
So we won't be eating at Braintree Spoons again, or the Sudbury one as a breakfast from there a year ago gave us the liquorice for a week Sad

Yeah, I find them all different in grub where many say it's all the same.
The Cambridge Regal always had lovely grub out of there, but the Chelmsford ones are crap on a plate Sad

Ate xmas dinner in the boozer for the last 7 or 8 years. Being a bit arsey about the sittings this year in the local though so might give it a miss.

Yeah we're having xmas dinner at the pub for the first time, I'm liking the idea of no washing up or hassle, but the pub down the road costs 50 a head, so It better be amazing...

My general experience of dining out around the christmas period are generally low. Having a birthday in the middle of december means Is all christmas menus and staff parties, with quality taking a tumble. I pretty much gave up on going out when one place informed me that, "all steaks are being cooked medium" when I tried to oder a rare. It was just a production line to them.

I cook Christmas dinner every year in my house and have always wanted to go out for dinner 1 year. Whats put me off is the feeling I would walk out of there pissed off because my dinner at home is the nuts after spending 200- 300. So I doubt I will ever go out for dinner in a boozer.
