Awight?

Me and Ben been in Tesco after some whisky as we fancy it
Seen Glenlivet 35cl bottles for 10, whereas the 70cl bottles are 26
We got one of the 35cl each and will guzzle it later after we go Spoons

What's the best you reckon? And not at crazy money

Aberlour is a good all rounder and mid 20's sometimes on offer

McCallan 18 is awesome as is Clynelish or Benromach.

If you like a peaty one any of the Islay malts like Tallisker is ok for the money.

Blended one from Stornoway called Tebag is great for 15

Cool beans, cheers Bruv
Bloody had Glen something or other all afternoon and about ready to let it out Neutral
Bull and Nags head here in Braintree don't seem to have such a fine sełection.
But on a plus note we saw Leroy from the Prodge through the window, walking along having a Benson Smile

I'm just bashing into the constantinho I brought back from Portugal. 1 litre for 10 euros. I think it's a brandy but it tastes like a Havana 7 rum with coke. Fave drink of the moment and cheap as chips (if you happen to find yrself in Portugal.)

As for whisky, I don't think you can go far wrong with sherry cask single malt. Macallan is great but pay a tad extra for The Dalmore which is sherry cask, then bourbon cask. Cheap and drinkable neat or with ice i'd probably go for a bourbon.

As for Lafroig....... wtf is that all about ffs?

Know what you mean; smells like TCP and tastes like peat; but I love it.

Current fave is Lagavulin 18yr old which is similar.

Agree, in my mates kitchen and couldn't work out what the smell was, he was quaffing an extremely large glass of it.

Tallisker is from the Isle of Skye

Te Bheag (wee dram) is also made by a company from the Isle of Skye but not sure where the malts for it come from.

There is no distillery in Stornoway. Abhainn Dearg is the only distillery on the Isle of Lewis but has only just sold its first batch of 3 year old stuff so will still be a bit rough.

Isle of Jura, Dalwhinnie, Balvennie, Glengoyne are my preferred reasonably priced tipples. Chivas Regal is also a very nice 'deluxe' blend.
