Going with missus for 8 days.
Pretty much the same price, Encore and Caesars give or take £50 or so.
What's the Encore like? Caesars is right in the middle of the strip and she's said she'd like to stay there before, and have the Forum shops, however is the Encore so amazingly nice that it would be worth it even to be in a worse location? |

Yeah it wasn't too bad, but I remember me and you (well me at least) probably spent too much time at the MGM because it was down one end, if we were in the middle then you've got bellagio, the new city centre complex, and venetian in a nice little circle around you.
Wasn't thinking it was particularly out of the way, just like mgm was really.
Caesars is the less expensive, probably about £100 total at the moment, changes daily though. Was really nice when we went there I thought. Didn't know if the Encore was just THAT nice that it eclipses it completely.
i wasn't trying to be balla but I meant that the £50 pp wasn't worth worrying about really, was looking at them as being the same price effectively. |

| I'm going out there next month for the first time since Nov 2008. Has anyone heard about a new table game called Bluff Poker or something? Apparently you are playing against the computer which bluffs occasionally or something. The person who explained it to me didn't do a very good job but I remember thinking it sounded awful and that the casino would have a massive edge. |

Booked a trip for September and staying at the Bellagio for the first time.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to book up excursions such as Grand Canyon trips? Is it better to prebook from the UK or book locally? I have done both in the past, but to be honest can't remember which way round was cheapest.
Also anyone know who will be the headline act in Vegas in September or is this too far ahead? |

Can anyone recommend somewhere to go dancing in the evening that isn't a ridiculously overpriced club like Tryst/Pure/Jet etc?
I would prefer somewhere that played cheesey pop/rock music to the house and rap that those places tend to play. |

Book excursions locally and haggle - They were doing lots of deals in the Fashion Show Mall (how gay does that sound ) last time I went - The way the dollar's going I wouldn't pre-book.
For cheesy rock/pop US stylee try Coyote Ugly in New York New York

House of Blues (mandalay bay) is not bad for this - though check the night because it's different every time. Mandalay bay actually has free live music in the casino area (cover band-ish fairly middle of hte road stuff, so good atmos in general. |

Yes they do.
I would recommend that everyone who visits Vegas should go to Texas de Brazilia which is a Brazillian steakhouse off the strip. It was amazing. The lunch buffet at the M Resort is also very good. Plus beer and wine is included. The cider was lovely, got our money's worth just from that. It is a $35 cab ride from the strip though.
Didn't play much poker this time around, which I am annoyed with myself about. |

hello,
off to vegas again in May and staying at the Wynn. There are 4 of us staying in two resort rooms. Have been reading the $20 trick and definitely going to try it but it recommmends you should know what type of upgrade you are after.
Has anyone stayed at the Wynn and recommend what I should try and get? Also I have read that you should get a golf course view rather than a strip. I'd be much happier getting strip I think but can anyone with personal experience point me in the right direction?
Finally I've been on allvegaspoker looking at tournies (I know its a bit early for that!). Wynn seems to have nice deep stack tournaments daily, any ideas on numbers (I know NevadaKaz has been able to help before). If not if anyone is out there and can say which rooms are busiest / have best structures for a MTT player looking to pay anything upto $400 for NL Holdem tournaments.
Thanks in advance |
