This question will be basic stuff for you readers but I have only practiced online and still lots I am unsure of and want to progress to live play

example in a hand

blinds 100/200

I am the first person to raise - lets say to 800 - player to my immediate left re-raises to 1600 - every one folds right back round to me - I am now unsure of staying in the hand and want to call - Do I have to put in another 1600 to call the raise or just 800 which is the difference of mine and his raise as I was 1st to raise???

Any advice on this or anything on betting/ raising appreciated

You would need to put in an additional 800 chips to call because you have already committed 800 to the pot. The bet is 1600 in total.
You're options here are;

- To call for 800 chips.
- To fold.
- To re raise (3 bet) by betting a minimum of 2400 in total (the difference between the raise and re raise, which is 800, so 1600 + 800 = 2400 min bet)

Don't you mean "re-raise (3 bet) by betting 1600 (call 800 plus raise 800), at least"?
