Jack Gets the Cake

Five Star World Poker Classic, Las Vegas
With 343 entries at 25,000 dollars a time today’s event produced a record prize pool of over eight million. Everyone started with 50,000 chips, and the blinds were 50-100 which meant a lot of play. I was surprised to see over 50 casualties (286 players are left) at the end of the day.
It was an up and down day for myself having reached 80,000 chips before going down to 20,000 and then finishing just under 40,000. Ross and Barny both finished around 20,000 but we’re all looking at it as getting the bad day out of the way. It was Joe who led the way however when he nearly doubled up early cracking someone’s aces with his set of sevens, but he went back down and finished the day just a little ahead of where he started. There was a little break in the middle of the tournament to celebrate the birthday of Jack McClelland. Jack has been a great ambassador in the world of poker and it was great to see everyone singing happy birthday and sharing the cake.
