Tournament Notes:

— The winner of the No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven Draw Lowball championship was Erik Seidel of Las Vegas, NV. He has been a professional poker player for 20 years. This was Seidel’s eighth WSOP gold bracelet. He is currently tied with poker legend Johnny Moss for fourth place on the all-time WSOP wins list.

— This was Seidel’s first WSOP win in three years. This was his fifth cash this year, which ranks fifth all-time – with 47 in-the-money career finishes.

— Prior to becoming a poker player, Seidel was a stock trader living in New York City. He was also one of city’s top backgammon players.

— Seidel’s life changed forever when he entered the 1988 World Series of Poker and ended up as the runner up to Johnny Chan. Confident he could play poker at the very highest level, Seidel won four gold bracelets within the next four years and has since demonstrated staying power over the last two decades.

— Seidel is married and lives in Las Vegas.

— The Deuce-to-Seven Lowball tournament routinely attracts the smallest field of the World Series, although the lineup always consists of perennial all-stars. Accordingly, it is one of the toughest tournaments to win when considering the high-caliber of players.
