There’s 1200 in the pot and Neil Channing and Roland de Wolfe are the two involved.

The flop:

4 7 5

Roland checks and Neil declares “check” an instant before he releases the 1000 chip in his hand and throws it over the line. Roland confirms with the dealer that the check stands.

The turn the 3 sees the same occur! It would be interesting to see what would have happened if this wasn’t between two mates, or Roland not so laid back a person.

The river is the 2 and this time the checks are by the book. Roland shows A K to take the pot.

Wolfe takes a bite of Channing

Roland de Wolfe bets out 2,000 into a raggy ten high board on the turn, just the sort of board which could have given him two pair, and Neil gives it up. De Wolfe picks up 2500 chips or so.

Palanca’s BB.
De Wolfe calls as do Channing and Bambos. Palanca checks on the big blind and we see a flop of 5 5 8
Bambos bets 16,000, de Wolfe calls and Channing moves all in.
We have action as Bambos also gets it all in.
De Wolfe can barely bring himself to fold his hand but eventually decides that it has to go.
Channing turns over J J but Bambos has him in bad shape with 5 2
Channing needs a jack but the turn is 3 and the river 9
We have our first elimination as Neil Channing exits in 8th place.

Akery’s BB.
Channing continues to make good use of his 500 chips by making another raise to 17,500.
Palanca pauses for thought then re-raises to 68,000.
Akery folds his big blind and Channing quickly does the same.
