Alistair Findlay raised to 70k under the gun. Zachary Ford on his immediate left re-raised to 200k. Ben Chisholm then moved all-in for around 250k in middle position. It was folded back to Findlay who got out of the way and Ford made the obligatory call. Ford said he hoped Chisholm had ace-king, which is precisely what he did have: A K. No-one was quite sure why Ford wished this since it meant his A Q was dominated. Flop and turn were 8 J 2 T leaving Ford needing a king or a nine. The river duly obliged with the 9 and the unfortunate Chisholm exited the tournament in 7th place.

Zachary Ford raises from the button and the blinds both fold. Ford seems to be the only one willing to try and make something happen. However, the pot he wins is nevertheless inconsequential.

Zachary Ford raised to 45k in the cut-off and Saleh Mahargh re-raised all-in for an additional 189k in the big blind. Ford told Mahargh that he had folded in a similar situation a few rounds earlier but was going to look him up this time and tabled 6 6. A coin flip at best and best this was not since Mahargh had T T. The board fell Q A 4 9 Q and Mahargh’s hand held up. He scooped a monster pot and put a severe dent in Ford’s stack.

Saleh Mahargh and “Skullman” Gerald David limped in late position, Alistair Findlay completed the small blind, and Zachary Ford checked his option in the big blind. The flop was J 9 4. It was checked to “Skullman” who bet 40k. Ford was the only caller. Turn 2 and river 5 were checked down and Ford tabled Q J for top pair. “Skullman” mucked.

We have seen some unusual folds here today and we’ve just had another. Wass Shahid had 120,000 in front of him and raised from mid position to 49,500, leaving just 70,000 behind. A re-raise came in from Zachary Ford to 110,000 and everybody else scarpers. Shahid takes little time in also releasing his hand and he is now on the critical list
