Scott scotched

Robin Yiltalo raised to 42k on the button and Phil Scott moved all-in from the big blind. Yiltalo called immediately with Q Q, which were in good shape against Scott’s A 8. However, it looked like Yiltalo was about to suffer his second bad beat in quick succession when the flop fell 9 6 J, but it wasn’t to be for Scott as the turn and river were T 4. He leaves the tournament in 4th place and trousers £7300.

Scott all in again

Robin Yiltalo raises to 42,000 from under the gun/cut off. Scott moves all in for another 41,500 on top and after Mathews folds his big blind Yiltalo is compelled to call.
It’s A 6 for Yiltalo and A 2 They don’t get too excited as this would be a split pot half the time.
However, this is the other half and Scott claims the pot when 9 3 6 Q K gives him a flush for the win

Phil Scott is all-in

Colin Wu makes it 40,000 under the gun and Phil Scott moves quickly all-in. The blinds pass and Wu asks for a count of the raise which is only 39,000 more.

With the blinds and antes in as well Wu thinks for much longer than would be expected before turning over KQ offsuit. Scott turns shows the same hand and the pot is unsurprisingly split.

Wu puts the squeeze on

Phil Scott raised to 18k in late position and John Lynch peeled off a call on the button. Big blind Colin Wu re-raised another 40k and Scott went into the tank. He knew he was getting squeezed but did he want to make a stand with his hand. The answer was no. He folded and Lynch quickly mucked behind. Another risk-free pot for Wu.

Lynch stays alive

P. Scott raised to 12k in the cut-off and John Lynch moved all-in for an additional 44k in the small blind. Scott deliberate before calling with T T. He was in bad shape against Lynch’s J J. There was no help for Scott from the 6 A 9 9 4 board and Lynch doubled up to 115k.

Tricky Dicky

P. Scott raised to 7k from the small blind and John Dick wasted little time re-raising another 18k from the big blind. Scott thought for a long time, telling Dick it was the first big hand he’d seen in a while. Dick told him to push his chips in if that was the case, but he eventually folded. Dick invited Scott to turn over one of his cards: 7. He then invited him to turn over the other: 3. Scott’s head sunk.

McCool dented

P. Scott raised to 5000 under the gun and Mick McCool called on the button. The blinds let them fight it out. Scott led out for 7000 on a flop of 8 Q 5 and McCool called. Scott fired the second barrel for 11500 when 3 hit the turn and McCool went into the tank. He eventually folded.

Early bath for Eglintine

Carl Eglintine got it all-in pre-flop with A-3 against P. Scott’s A-K, which made broadway to send Eglintine to the rail after 5 minutes of play.
