Surinder Sunar manages to double up

Surinder Sunar and Joe Beevers see the flop of 4 10 8.
Joe bets 2500.
Surinder goes all-in for 15825.
Joe thinks for several minutes but eventually calls with about half his stack.
Surinder shows 4 4.
Joe is on Q 10.
The board is completed with 6 5 and it’s no help for Joe.

Anthony Mackay raises from early position. Dave Colclough calls the raise on the button, Surinder Sunar in the BB calls as well. 3 players see a flop

The flop: 8 2 T

Surinder checks, as does Anthony. Dave Colclough bets 2000. Surinder raises to 4500, Anthony calls and its back on Dave.

Dave folds, meaning Surinder scoops the pot.

Surinder is now on around 18000

On a 2 A 4 9 3 .clubs board Mustafa Sepanji pushes all in on the river. Surinder Sunar is the other player in the pot – he easily covers Sepanji. Surinder tanks for about 2 minutes before folding.

Day 2 proper will begin in around an hour with Jennifer Tilly, the only female entrant, leading the pack of 53 remaining players with 74,100 chips. In 2nd place is Rob Akery. WSOP Main Event winner Jamie Gold hasn’t made it, nor have top pros Robert Williamson or Ram Vaswani. Other well known players who will be joining us today though are Joe Beevers, sitting 4th in chips with 54,950, Charalambous Xanthos on 36,800. Further down the field but still with average stacks are Barny Boatman, Antonio Esfandiari and Roland de Wolfe.

Benedetto Passantino, Stuart Rutter and Pete Singleton may need to make some early moves, whilst Jani Johansson will return with a single 500 value chip.
